After seeing the movie "Valcano" i've been scared crapless when it comes to lava's.

Can they really melt you like they do in the movies??

direct exposure to molten lava wouldn't melt you like it did in Volcano. You would instantly flame up and die, your body converted to carbon within seconds

Video was taken July 19 2007. About 18 hours later ALL of the magma in the vent disappeared and erupted in fissures about a mile or so to the east. Since that time, Pu 'u 'O 'o has basically been dark.

This was the second or third time the lake overturned. The first time it happened, I thought I was about to be a crispy critter as the magma marched toward the shore and the air felt as though someone had just opened an oven door. But as the night progressed, the lake would act up every couple hours or so and its behavior became predicatable. Look for more videos of this night and later in July 07 at the end of January 08.
