I might get one in a week or so even though I have only had a corn snake a long time ago but I am 28 and have the time and money and dedication. Plus I have been taking wild animal classes at the Moorpark EATM program and have worked with many types of animals. Do you think I can handle this?
I have a ball python for about a year and a half. im also gonna get another snake(probably a colubrid in november. Do you think i would be ready for one by february thats when the expo is. Also do you just use a heat mat
@woopsreptiles no not 100%, they do sometimes go on the ground, more at night, but they do move around and they do sometimes, though not often, go on the ground. If they are very stressed they may even ball up on the ground
@tarantulafinatic323 To answer your question I spray my chondros down every day at least twice a day, and for heat I use radiant heat panels or flex watt like tape and thermostats.
@mttc72 Alot of people do this because they have a large collection and not enough space....and if your thinking about putting reptiles in the garage it needs to be insulated and have some sort of vapor barrier in the winter.
@randallpegues hey i was wondering as a baby when u have them in the tubs how do u heat the cage belly heat or side and if is belly would u have to crank up the temps alot and i am looking to get a sorng type locality one thats y i am asking
Why do I see so many videos on youtube where people are keeping their snakes in their garage? Is this common? I'd never think about doing that with mine.
Your totally correct... the only thing is...these are captive breed and born ... A human interaction can be stressfull to the animal, and If you give them a cage thats big enough you really dont have to worry about the exercise part as much.
You were saying it is best to take the perch out if you can so that you don't disturb the animal, but I disagree and not just because you can make them more tame.
Taking out these animals provides essential exercise, in the jungle they get disturbed enough to provide there requirements for exercise.
So what i mean by intermediate or expert level is this... how much money, time, effort, and care are you willing to put into the animal....anyone can buy an animal but you need to do your research first

Ok. Umm what do u use to control the heat tapes temperature? Or is it a heat pad? Does the water get moldy or gross from having the heat under it?
gtplover16 1 year ago
