I have had both. The Valentine "was" the best. That thing goes off when an old lady farts in the car next to me. The V one is great on a highway with no false signals but in the city? I nearly threw it out of the car I got so sick of hearing it. keep up the good work Escort!!
False alarms or not, its not a big deal. What is important is just detecting the source. The V1 can detect multiple sources and tells you where it is coming from. The passport? 1 source at a time and you dont know where its coming from. The V1 is superior to the passport plain and simple
@shanegalang2 Its not always that easy. Example: the decoys police do makes the passport look bad and the valentine one the best. A cop can sit in the middle of a median and u can pick up a signal, you pass him and then assume that's it but there is another cop car hiding up ahead on the right behind some bushes and then ur nailed cuz u resumed your original speed thinking u passed the source. The V1 would point to the source and u realize the first cop was a decoy. Passport can't do that.
@CaptainJackRyan Well I use common sense and continue to go the speed limit until I am far down the road from the police I saw. I think thats part of the problem people have with radar detectors, they rely on them TO much! you have to use common sense along with the detector as a tool, not a guarantee that you absolutely cant get a ticket because you have one.
Haha I just love the people that say the V1 Is still the best radar detector but you really mean "it was" the escort redline has already proven it has longer range and plus V1s range against 35.5 is terrible and yeah it has arrows but it's not hard to know where the source is coming from.
I've had a Passport 9500ix for 3 months now and it works great. It was expensive, but I know for certain that it has saved me from getting a ticket at least 3 times and probably a few more that I didn't know about, so it has more than paid for itself.
And, to the person below who thinks I am endangering the public by driving faster than the legal limit...do you drive under the posted limit at all times?
but what u do if a police car use a place like a market like a oil gas and u dont get warned coz u set the antiradar to not alarm u in trat place OoOoOo u got a ticket ... good joob great detector , gsp detector is not the solution ....
@MariusTm29 You didn't listen very well. The device records the frequency along with the location. If the device can detect within a reasonably accurate frequency range then it is pretty much impossible for the frequency you are locking out to be the same as the actual radar detector's. Hence the false one will be locked out and you would be alerted to the real one. Good job Marius.
You could just drive at the legal speed, save some gas, and have some time to listen to NPR instead of risking everyone else's safety with your reckless driving...
I have 2 friends who have been seriously injured by speeding persons.
9500i eliminates the false alarms AND the TRUE ALARMS as falses out a LARGE AREA. And it does NOT distinguish between the seperate radar bands.
Cops hide BEHIND those radar signs all the time knowing that 1) speeders have no excuse as they drive by a sign displaying thier speed and 2) RD owners are likely to ignore the sign AND the cops radar is masked by the sign.
This means the Valentine One is STILL the best radar/laser detector in the world.
Are you saying that the V1 doesn't monitor multiple sources at once? If so, you should probably check out Mike's website. I was cruising down i-5 with a buddy, i had my V1, he had a 9500i, he was in front of me in the far left lane doing about 95, i was on his tail in the right lane, My V1 told me there was a KA band straight ahead, sure enough there was. Unfortunately my friend's 9500ci didn't quite catch it. So speeding ticket for him
V1 is the best RLD in the world hands down. It is more sensitive. It picks up more than one band at the same time. It has directional arrows and is superior in detecting laser. When the 9500i detects laser it means you just got a ticket. But when the V1 detects laser cars 1,2,3,4 paces in front of you are being targeted giving you time to slow down. Choosing a V1 goes double if you travel on the highway allot. The ONLY negative I would give the V1 is that is FALSES WAY MORE than the 9500i.
V!?...Naaaa...Who the F-Bomb has time to Look at Arrows? The Beep should be enough to tell you you're being clocked. Besides Cops can't clock you from the side you have to be going or coming. Angle maybe....But who has time to Look at the arrow, then look for the cop to see if your detector is lying to you??..ha haha...when I hear "Brap Brap" I slow the F down....Thas all the warning I need... Go Escort!
What if the cop sneaks up from behind? I mean sure, he may not exactly know how to clock you and add his own speed to the speed he clocked to get your actual speed, which is pretty just basic math, but then again a cop isn't dumb enough to miss you making a lane change without the "percussions".
Is there anything that can pick up cops in the city? I granny it on the highway, but I just don't want to get picked up going a little over the speed limit because some fuck is tailgaiting my ass. I hate people. Everybody drives too fucking fast.
well I think the V1 has that same feature,it's called the logic feature. It's smart enough to know weather if needs to alert you or not. one button one setting don't have to mess with it during driving..
hi, i have the v1 and am goin to return it. Its a piece of shit. I had my v1 and was pulled over by highway and it didnt even go off.. So u rellay like ur 9500i? thanks
I agree with you %100 percent and the V1 zombies need to get real or better yet just get lost because I know some cheap $25 detectors that are better at detecting radar then the Valentine One.
Yes the Passport does show you when more than one band has been detected and the signal strength of each band. It can also show you the exact frequency so you'll know whether you have a real threat or a false. The V1 cannot do that. The ability to mark known speed traps is an outstanding feature too.
In truth, you can program the V1 to take away x-band alerts. In addtion, you can scale dow sensitivity to all other bands by using the program mode of the V1. Police also like to hide in areas where false alarms are given off. Why? Because you will think it is just another false alarm and continue to speed. Then they have you...the V1 is for highway driving...you should never speed town...they will just pace you. I will take a little annoyance over a ticket any day.
Yes the valentine is more sensitive and puts out more false alarms. But I prefer the arrows and front and rear detection. I am capable of remembering where false alarms come up at. You shouldn't be speeding in city limits anyways. I drive on the highway MUCH more than city. So false alarms aren't a real problem for me.
Does the Escort tell you how many bogeys there are and in what general location?
Suks I just had my V1 stolen last night.Bastards busted my damn window out.
The V1 is no match for this detector. Escort has more patents then ANY OTHER detector including the V1. The V1 is a very over rated detector and the V1 is a very false happy detector. This video is living proof that the V1 sucks.
It's pretty funny to see you and the rest of the world mount their RD on the dash....it makes me laugh everytime. By the way, I'll be happy to take the "ordinary RD" off your hands.
I know that this guy was running V1 in All bogey mode...He is a spokesman for Escort Radar, so he has to make it look good!...When it comes to true performance, V1 RULES!
Iam not a spokesman for Escort and I will tell you for a fact that the Valentine One sucks and is the most over rated detector in the history of the world and ONLY because of the arrows.
False alarms do not count as true performance my friend and thats what the V1 does better then ANYTHING.
Also Escort owns more patents Vs any detector made not Mr Valentine and his over rated piece of junk the V1.
Who has time to set up true lock on every street valentine tells you how many radars are there so if you already drove on that street you already know that there are 2 radars common sence Valentine V1 all the way
wow r u serious? like the guy below me said, Valentine 1 still owns! It has way way more range and has directional arrows for every radar detected so u kno where the radar is comming from. Old guy, u have no freakin clue about wat ur talking about!
true the arrows are a nice feature, its the best for highway driving. but for [everyday city driving, 9500i has it beat in that it isnt so damn annoying
So it locks out the signal by your current GPS lat and long? So if your blocking out multiple locations in a city then it will reject true radar too? Usually false alarms are X band and true radar is K/Ka.
Ok so I have a RX65 pro, and I have K and Ka on all the time. There are some cops that use K on their cars around me. I turned off X band to avoid (doors, etc..) So you can turn off bands that u know u dont need. That GPS stuff is useless IMO, cause if you know your area, you know where doors, etc.. are. Im always caution of K bands everywhere I go
