  • i hate anand...

  • actually 29 people lost against Ne4 ^^

  • I'm never playing d4 ever again

  • i never wat ch half an hour vids but this was really exciting

  • lol proud to be the 2000th like

  • Also @jrobichess please delete the spoiler comment in game 3

  • @ stephsteph you're a cunt for the spoiler comment in game 3.

Regardless watched this whole series, great play from anand. Watching topolavs play has definitley reinforced my assertion that agressive chess isn't good chess.

I'm impressed that topolavs was able to draw some of the matches he did.

  • great analysis

  • at 25:23 why doesnt topalov play Qg1 protecting the pawn??

  • oh my god...... topalov's aggression really worked against him. it must've been hugely disappointing for him after getting so close to winning the match. in regard to anand not making the most efficient/elegant finish to the game, i believe he was playing to keep topalov in a vice as you said. his own path to victory certainly looked more crushing than the elegant approach, and it might've been a message to topalov that he owns the "d4 showdown" whether he's playing the white or the black pieces

  • I am sick and tired of D4 opening!

  • You talk yo much..!!

  • i like it when he talks

  • 10:29 Why not taking on e4? if white take he gets a doubled pawn. black goes back to d1 atacking the e4 pawn and controlling the center. does it end up with a weaken king side soe moves later?

  • he stops rambling and video starts at 5:05

  • WHOO ANAND WON

WHY IS EVERYONE NOT TALKING ABOUT THE WIN MAN I LOVE CHESS

  • What kind of lecture in first 5 minuts ?

  • topolov or anand could beat me in probably 11 moves

  • lol to the top two comments!

  • @hockyjocky4

i'm sure it would be 4

  • @1whoowns haha... not if I play defense and no attack. Wishful thinking....

  • Fuck this. Ive been watching all these videos and happened across a comment in another video giving away the winner. There is absolutely no suspense for me now :(

  • wtf, how did topalov take the pond at 25:06 - 25:15??

  • @INT3RV3N10N The move is called En Passant check it out on wiki.

  • @INT3RV3N10N en passant

  • Dude, you kick ass making chess vids! Really the best, best, channel of yt to me. Ty, j.

  • what a terrible move toplov, even I wouldnt have made that move.

  • @tonyfalca i bet you topolov could beat you in like less than 20 moves

  • @22222222eaglesfan im sure he could, although not if he made a bunch of moves like that.

  • thanks a lot jrobi

  • awesome anand...........

  • Nevermind

  • At around 26 minutes, could he bring the black bishop to g,2 getting a checkmate???

  • One behalf of all "New" Chess players, Thanks :)

  • amazing anand

  • (clicked the vid) waited for a minute... still talking ...........(cuts the vid)

  • no engines to assist yet as i watched at 13:16 instead of Be2 i would have closed the position with c5 with the idea of cramping black's development, anyone with an engine to see how this move stacks up?

thanks for the videos jrobi, appreciated:)

  • man i love your vids but u speak to much! wtf...

  • why didn't anand do instant checkmate at 22:42? Why he placed his rook to d4? plz answer..

  • @jaipur1043. Can't see any check mate there. Not sue what move you thought would deliver check mate. When you ask such a question, you should give the move as well.

  • @jaipur1043 anand is a fool , i guess :|

  • @jaipur1043 i cant see any instant check mate if he goes check with the queen he will just lose the queen

  • @efthymiou93 the pawn.

  • @WheatballCheese queen can be taken out with the tower sitting on f2

  • Thanks for the commentary. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

    I like the long videos.

  • @PunaniLicker69 lol *insert your hobby here.* get a life losers.

You like to party, drink, smoke weed?

You like to skateboard or ski?

You like to play and watch baseball?

You like to hook up with random girls at the bar?

Good for you, but we like to play chess as a hobby. GTFO.

  • 25 people only play checkers

  • @youjimbou13 hahaha.

  • Man!! you must be tired with all that talking.

    I am

  • 25 people aren't intelligent enough to understand the video

  • I know this video was made in 2010, but if you're still reading these comments, i need ur help. i'll also except advise from other youtubers. I am thirteen and am very interested in chess. i would guess that i have an elo rating somewhere between 600-900. i no all the principals and a decent amount of openings, but i do not know how to advance in my studies. like being able to strive in the midle game and see seven or eight moves ahead. I WANT TO NO WHERE I CAN GET MORE WAYS TO ATTACK A O-O KING

  • At 27:53 why the Rook can't be taken by knight that will give Anand loss and Tablov no need to loss his Queen

  • @bas070478 It was Anand's move. =)

  • At 27:53 why the Rook can't be taken by knight that will give Anand loss and Tablov no need to loss his Queen

  • At 27:26 why didn't Topalov take Anands Rook with his Queen? I Know that his Queen would have also been taken but it was worth a shot.

  • @SeedsofJoy you're fucking blind, the knight isn't even on a square where it could take... facepalm at you, sir.

  • Wait, what just happend at 25:06? How did white capture the pawn on g5 with the pawn he had on f5? Wtf?

  • @thejewsarecoming its called en passant...look it up on wikipedia.

  • @thejewsarecoming It's called en passant, where such an attack is legal. Look it up :)

  • @thejewsarecoming

I agree whith you!! can't see how the hell he was thinking? :D

  • @thejewsarecoming

It's en passant. You shouldn't be watching these videos if you don't know what en passant is.......

  • thanks

  • I watched the 12 videos in the series and I have to say that I have really learned a lot. Your videos are clear, and what I like the most is that you always make the ''what would've happened if...'' cases. Thanks, I'll check all of your vids =D

  • Anand is a chess machine --

  • watched in the future by people just getting into chess... whoa

  • Great post as always. My comment is one that is not original. Chess at the top level, as good as it is, is ruined by the number of draws. No other sport (or high level sport/game such as poker, go or scrabble) allows it's world champions to skate if both side just don't feel up to competing. It's a disgrace and it is the reason chess has not grown more than it has. In my opinion both players should receive a ZERO for a draw and points should be deducted after a certain number of draws per match.

  • good video learned a lot

  • Comment removed

  • Wow I'd really love to have on the internet lots of series of chess games as this one, I really enjoyed a lot. Thank you.

  • At 20:55 why didn't Topalov just take the pawn on a7 with his rook?

  • @PYROjoSH09 Because then comes ...Bxf3+!! and the rook on a7 is attacked by the rook on c7 and it is lost! Black wins a pawn and a rook and only loses a bishop. Thats like you´ve won 3 pawns.

  • @PYROjoSH09 because, bishop f3 check, wins back the pawn and trades a bishop for a rook. you god damn blind bat.

  • I'm a beginner at chess, and I have a friend I've never beaten. After I watched this series of videos I won . :)

Strangely I can only learn by watching games, through observation.

    Anyway

Thanks a lot for the videos, they've been really helpful.

  • topalov the bulgarian

  • 5:17 to begin :D

  • Fantastic videos! Love the comentary mixed with the solid analysis. This is the kind of production that should be on TV.

  • @ 25:11 what the hell? how could the pawn take? the black pawn was on g5

  • @accAaron It is called En Passant, I think. Basically the pawn gets the opportunity to take the passing pawn if it takes its initial 2 spaces instead of the normal 1 square.

  • @accAaron wtf i just noticed that

  • @XxpollopxX it's called "en passant" and it can only be done on the first turn after the defender's pawn has been moved

  • the proper response to ...f5 was nd2 to maintain a roughly balanced position. black's weak pawn on c5 would be compensated by white maintaining a weak pawn on e4. Topalov responded in a post-game interview that he played exf5 because he missed the later ...Qe8. He stated that he was very eager to win this game, as a draw would force Rapid Play-Off w/ Anand (which he had previously lost). Subtle factors such as these helped give Anand a much-deserved victory, and retain the World Champion title

  • do you know when the world chess championship will be or if they show it on TV what channel and when

  • Ur commentary is really good.

  • 10:13 he could of put his pawn up on g-3 and made a showdown :/

  • nice video for a rookie like me but i think u are talking too fast!!!

  • Im new to chess.... Your videos are excellent.....reaallllllyyyy good!

  • Brilliant video. I've watched this a lot now :D

    Thank you jrobi!

  • Topalov disliked this video twenty times.

  • "...REGARDLESS!!"

  • Anand didn't need to push the pawn to win

  • @xFerris not so...that's why the top players in the world historical teach chess principles.

  • THIS IS THE ONE OF THE GREATEST CHESS GAME !!

  • when's the next championship?

    is it every year?

will you make videos for it?

  • On the last move why couldn't horse go to d8?

  • @AnimeIntroStyles4 Yeah I'm wondering why he couldn't shift his knight to d8 too, I guess he just saw the way the game was going and gave up.

  • Ananad the Analyzer !

  • Good players are good at staying with principles of chess, pawn structure, pins, forks and piece placement and what pieces to keep.

  • @methunshow Amazing player can break all the principles and still win.

  • habla demasiado este imbesil

  • after 2 mins & 12 seconds i lost the will to live!

    bloody well hurry up!!!

  • good analysis of the game.

  • Nice comments!

  • talking too much!!

  • jrobi

    you a pimp

  • at the start too much opening talk otherwise very good analysis.

  • on 29:30 if he were to move the knight to d2 than if the bishop on a8 takes the pawn on e4 hed lose the bishop this guy himself isnt that intelligent even though he thinks about this like for hours

  • @Scytheofgods :wtf will the bishop on a8 take the pawn on e4????thats a ridiculous move :-/

  • quality commentary man

  • at 27:30.... why not capture the black rook with either queen or horse?

  • @hexecutioner horse cannot capture bcoz it moves 2.5 and not 3.5 and rook was having cover from queen look carefully friend

  • @2upendra ahh i see... the shape of the board made it seem like the horse covered that square .....thanks for clarifying

  • @hexecutioner :not possible with the horse....and its defended by the black queen on g4

  • Very entertaining game and commentary... thanks.

  • Fantastic commentary! it makes it so easy for a beginner to the game to understand the basics of Grandmaster play. Congratulations!

  • Outstanding commentary mate! Pure Gold. I count myself amongst the many who are looking forward to your future videos. Thank you again for sharing with us your incredible knowledge and spotless commentary with the occasional humour. Much appreciated. I am forced to donate now.

  • Wonderful commentary!! thanks

  • Haha topalov lost the game because he refused to change his opening.

  • Haha topalov losted because he refused to change his opening.

  • aside from being very helpful with your explanation, i must say i love your colorful way of eplaining thing. "knights perched" "bishop biting on granite" lol really allows you to undestand the perspective of the game and which direction to go with your pieces. anyway nice vids. ty

  • I agree with your comments on Topadope's stubborness in opening with d4. It reminds me of the Kasparov vs Shramnick match where Kasparov lost his title but refused to deviate from entering the berlin defense. We should quote Einstein's definition of insanity at this point " Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result"

  • Rf7+ after bishop takes whit's queen is making the game equal nd is probably a blunder by topalov as he didnt play it.....nice spot Onhj :)

  • @KARTIKEYA007 it is not equal after RF7+ instead of white taking bishop. black will still win the end game of pawns. the game continues as follows. bg2rf7+, kg6rg7+, kf5n*rqg4*, h5r4*kg2b*,ke4 and the game is over for white as it cannot protect its pawns and black will queen his pawns. sorry i do not know the notation correctly but i found the logic.

  • lost the chess championship but destined to win the geek chmshp

  • Looks like a game of semi weak players !

  • That's some really good playing from Anand. I wish to be as good as him someday.

  • pawn to e3 basically destroyed topalov on the chess board, and his mistake wasn't forced either! Then again, mistakes in top level play is what makes it so intresting, if they played perfectly then it would be boring. Thanks for the uploads jrobi! And since the momentum swayed several times, then it was hard to tell who would win, and personally, I didn't think that Anand would win that, I mean, black against topalov, I thought it would be a draw. I'm still calling it the d4 showdown :P

  • at 11.20 in the video, y couldn't the black knight on e4 capture tha pawn on f2, it would prevent the white king from castling

  • @jy1270 good point....

  • @jy1270 :black will loose the knight lol

  • mis respetos senor.. y muchas feliciades.. i take the hat off for people like you.. congrats.. he mirado videos tuyos por mas de 10 anos. creo hahaha sino estoy cerca.... de eso si estoy seguro.. un abrazo desde Mexico

  • @RhitzzChess i 4X4 all day. This reminds me of the legendary match between Pung Tsow and Melvin Gibsóñ.

  • great commentary on all these games...very enjoyable...thanks kiddo

  • And uh... Um... and Um.. err ahh.

  • Congratulations to both Anand and Topalov for playing a great game of chess. Anand winning with the black pieces and Topalov not giving up even after a game behind. Jrobi, keep making these videos, I love to view them and I watch a different one everyday, in fact, my dad isn't too happy that I am spending more than 1 hour watching you videos! Keep it up Jrobi!

  • At 20:37, why didn't white just take the pawn on a7 with his rook???

  • @fluff125 Bf3 check, something like knight captures, Ra7. He loses it.

  • @fluff125 I wondered that too. I guess to protect the e3 pawn which could've been pushed anyway.

  • thank you for posting.

  • where is this place "sofia" or sophia?

  • @rebelsouljaz Bulgaria.

  • @ssuuppeerrbbooyy my hot friend is from there! cool lol

  • @rebelsouljaz We Bulgarians are hot. Hot hot hot.

  • g3?! and later on e4 ??? how can he weaken the white squares ... with this moves he lost the game :((

  • thanks jrobi awesome commentary! for me you are the champ :)

  • at 14:04, why doesn't Anand play Qb4? i understand it is really aggressive, but it seems to be putting a lot of pressure on the bishop and rook. he, of course knows a lot more than i do, but it seemed like an ok move to me.

  • anand is awesome

  • Thanks.. :)

  • Sir Jrobichess is as great as Fischer, Kasparov, and Anand to me

Thank You !!! God Bless You Jrobichess for your Good Work !!! +)

  • Awesome pawn move by Anand

  • at 12:47 white should have captured blacks knight at e4 and trade knights. Right after black woud capture whites knight with his pawn at e4, white should then move his knight from f3 to e5.

Would that be a better move to do for white?

  • Awesome , AWESOME coverage !!!

    THX !

  • cuber9 h2xg3

  • at 26:00 isnt Rg3+ Kh4 Qg5 checkmate?
