@hotspur666 WTF? Sorry for telling the truth, you tea bagging moron...lol
I bet George would agree with my comment..it's ridiculously bad. To bad there's a large chunk of our country that thinks it's "their" country and anyone that doesn't agree with their opinion is a "Hippie Commie scumbag on welfare" .. and yet another brain surgeon calling me a "Bitch" you guys are so classy
Good to see that George has reached an audience in such a meaningful way...
@hotspur666 you know nothing about music, nothing about George Thorogood and nothing about the social or political realities of the U.S. You should really just stay in your mother's basement and keep your posturing b.s. to yourself.
@TerraDigitalMedia , Wow, you seem to be a very angry person. Maybe you should drink decaf? Or better yet go away where no one will piss you off. And I can see you wouldn't know talent if you bit you in the ass which is where I imagine your pea brain is.
@guitarslinger48 I've been the subject of Guitar Player magazine articles and have actually graced the pages of Publications at exactly the same Time GT was in them.. I'm angry for responding to some idiotic hostile jabs at my "Political beliefs"? Pea brain did you say..in my ass? No sorry for the all the back and fourth on this post... but really you guys are pathetic fan boy losers..sucking the fame dik from afar... lol Talent? Where?
I saw George in Australia quote a few years ago... one of the best concerts i have ever been to... it was freakin awesome!! His music is timeless!! and you don't ever get sick of it!!
@fretburner101 you sold yr soul. you deserve to die. maybe 20 yrs ago it was acceptable. anyone today in this generation who thinks joining the military is 'fighting for freedom' is either totally fucking ignorant or is simply a willing tool of the government. people like you make me sick .... but you ask what was i thinking? so maybe you have seen the light (of the light bringer, the real one) wake up sheep.
Shut the fuck up kid. you're probably flippin burgers, when some of those just are flying or fixing airpland or machinests,or really anthing but burger technitions.
This song fits me to a "T" right now. I let my hair grow past my shoulders, and jobs are few. The one place that accepted me was Centralia College Library. When I went to my interview, I had a mullet that went past my shoulders, and when I ran my hands through my hair, it reached my arms. Couple that with the fact that I'm roughly six and a half feet tall, and you could understand why my boss was initially hesitant to hire me. As it turns out, I was the best employee the library ever had. Funny!
I have a "real job" (with benefits!), but I don't have to get a haircut if I don't want to. Right now I somewhat resemble the Wolfman, but my supervisor doesn't care. ;)
To chrisfragger thats because this generation is FUCKED UP, you have white boys trying to act black. white girls in love with guys with no jobs, and a black pres. Like me to go on, bring back the 80's.
@Xialiba Ya well bieber is a whiny little poser ass bitch, he got NOTHING ON GEORGE! That bitch bieber can only wish to be as great of a legend as George. Music has gone to shit nowadays, this coming from a 26 year old! See not all of us younger generations like the new shit. I prefer Ol' school Rock and roll anyday. BTW I am wearing a T-Rex shirt, and if you don't like good music, then do us all a favor, slit your wrists, 'coz your no good to anyone except for crawling maggots.
The sad thing is that Great music like this and other songs like it get no views. But put a Justin Beiber video on in 2 weeks it'll have 200 Million views.
You nailed it, some friggin fag with a "haircut" that looks like it was screwed on and who has no material he wrote himself gets more recognition than a real American like good old George.
Kick ass tune! ive just started a new classic acoustic rock band called STILL WHISKY because im sick of the state of so-called "popular music" these days! we aim to take the band far but without the support of people who still believe in old school rock'n'roll we cant do it, ROCK MUST LIVE ON! check us out on youtube, got a few original songs up now and a cover of Bob Seger's Turn the Page coming soon, all your feedback and comments would be greatly appreciated!
Went to see George many times over the years. Saw him at HOB in Cleveland maybe 3 years ago and he had my 11 yr.old daughter join him onstage to play the maracas. Still my greatest concert memory to date !!
@bribri42195 I've been a George Thorogood fan for as long as he's been performing. I have seen him live twice and he's just great. Simply jams on that guitar. He's so cool. I count seeing him right up there with Waylon, Johnny, Elvis, Chuck and some wonderful other performers. George, DON"T get a haircut. saj
I've been a George fan for over thirty years and he blows the lid off of any place he plays. Back in the early 80's I went The Empire Rock romm in NE Philly to see a neighborhood band called the Juke Rockers and a Delaware band called the Drinkers and Lonesome George was sitting at the bar right next to us tossing back a few. The Drinkers got him up on stage and he kicked ass! That was so freaking COOL! LOVE THAT SOUND! THANKS GEORGE.
Hi everyone. If you want to generate lots of great wealth in your financial situation and work from home please visit my page and check out my video because it will explain in detail of how to be financially successful in life.
onlypresto, I was just trying to help someone that didn't have your knowledge. Here's a tip though, beware of buying a used replica from your "coisin". Gibson produced lot's of them 1961 to 1970, a real one can be picked up as low as $5,000 if you look hard. Made better than the replica's and sound much better, a great investment too. I've got a 1961 Cherry Gibson ES 125 TDC, it's just like George's white one but mine is painted like a Strat. sunbust, just replace the brown with bright red.
Discovered this song right after shaving my mullet off(not for stylistic reasons, that haircut was badass, it was just too costly to maintain). I immediately regretted my decision.
Never got a job though, so I fulfilled that part of the song, very proudly too.
This used to be my song back when my hair was down to my waist. I would just drift from place to place on my bike. When I ran low on money I would work in the oil fields, get a few paychecks then hit the road again, ride, party, hook up with a woman for a while then move on again.
Now I do the 9-5 thing. Drive the kids to school. Get groceries for the wife. I listen to this song wonder, WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED?
@Raving WTF happened? Seriously. Did you get rid of your bike and stopped rocking because you have a family? People say I'm supposed to do that at this point of my life but I refuse to accept it.
@proctorlove I'm never gonna quit. I may have a short Ducktail haircut, but the only way I'm giving up Rock N' Roll is over my cold, dead, ripped-in-half-shot-multiple-times-and-thrown-in-a-pit-of-lions body!
@Raving Try being 19 nowadays, the cost of moving out is too damn high and you can barely find a job that pays more than minimum wage. You did it when the time was right man and I envy you for it.
@envision91 This! A high school diploma nowadays only differentiates one as being not homeless. Back in my dads time if you had a HS diploma you could set yourself up for life with a decent job.
oh gosh! when i was a little girl my dad bought this cd and played this song all the time, he passed away when i was twelve but this song just makes me smile....=)
Just like some of you, the first time I heard this song (also I have to confess the first time I heard of George Thorogood - Universal City, October 4th shared concert with Bryan Adams), I felt like "this is a song about me !". Well, except for the last verse, but the parents speech, the gf parents, the big brother... very familiar.
