Yeah mad sore. My right arm/shoulder is numb, and I have a lot of trouble raising my arms over my head. My shoulder blade sticks out a lot on one side now too. AND, before my surgery I had PE, but my body was symmetrical. Now after the surgery I'm asymmetrical. I got an appointment to go back to the specialist, and I told him I want to take the bars out!
it is def mandatory according to mi doc..and trust me you wont..even when they took it out it took me a while to pee and shit..trust me it wont hurt and it helps...otherwise they wuoodnt make u use it
you just take as needed and you get off when you feel like it..at first i was on the ovycodone every 8 hours and motrin every 4 so i ould have a pill every 4 hours

4. my mom was with me 24/7 and my sis and dad visited everyday all 4 days. trust me u say you dont want her there now but you will. i felt the same way.

When I was your age I had a friend who had pectus and he was very shy, which was difficult because he loved to swim and water ski. This surgery would have been great for him.

well earlier this year(april) i saw my doc and he reffered me to a surgeon to consult with. then the doc at musc said we needed more test. i was mad but when mi dad was activated agaibn we went to the army hospital to see a doc and he approved me for surgery for the next month without any question. so it matters. i trully started researching like last year but with private insurance its alot harder.
I hear a lot of people saying that once you're past the age of 18 or so, that you can't really get this procedure done. Do know you if that's true or not?
yea dont believe everything u hear. the ideal age for surgery is 15 or 16. however they will do cases until ur 19. then they will need either more evidencee or clearance from other docs if ur 19-27. after that u cant get it done because ur bones will be too strong and wont flip easily.i suggest getting it done before 19 tho. it will be so much easier
Just got back from 2nd doctors opinion on my pectus. Glad yours went well for you. Its the same over here in England, I cant get the nuss procedure because Im 23. I've had a surgery suggested, its a little more drastic but I think it will be worth it. Damn it just takes some confidence to say: yes, ok lets do it. I'm in that 'thinking stage' right now. I have options, and its just down to me now. I have a different type of pectus, chest isnt as deep as it should be, one rib is up, other is down.

Good results! I'm still in rough shape and it's been 3 weeks after my surgery. My chest would go in about 4-5cm before, but now it's about 2cm in.

1. you can seea little on my left side but only if i lift mi arm..it just pushes out..not bad at all
2. i cant feel the bar.. i play soccer and i cant even tell the differnce
3. i do work out and i reccomend it...the hardest will be sit ups but i finally can do them..they will hurt...lol

Thanks! The surgeon I saw said it would not be possible to do a Nuss on me. My Haller is 7.4 and the sternum is rotated.
