  • Great kneebar.

  • That move is easily escapable.... sigh... but good fight tho.

  • this move is not easy to escape.

This is 2 black belts not 2 white belts.

  • telles still wins his fair share of matches. Its just people have figured out how to combat turtle guard. Its kinda like rubber guard now people are just starting to figure it out. Both guards are great. I dont rubber guard personally though as its not practictioner-friendly and therefore goes against everything bjj was originally designed for.

  • but isn't that what martial arts is all about, expanding and evolving?

  • yes i respect rubber guard i just dont like because it goes against the base principles of bjj by not being modifiable for people who dont have and/or cant gain the required level of flexiblity for whatever reason. For instance i have had multiple surgeries on my lower-body its impossible for me to in any form. Its just practictioner-friendly thats all. I fault Eddie Bravo for this flaw.

  • so by that logic muay thai, karate, tkd, etc... isn't practitioner friendly because some guys can't obtain the required flexibility to kick people in the head. also judo and greco-roman wrestling are not practitioner friendly because some guys aren't strong enough to pull off the throws. your logic is flawed.

  • No my friend you completely misunderstood what I meant. It is up to the practicioner to select the art that best fits them thats why intro classes exist. BJJ is an adaptable system of both self-defense and sport competition. 10th planet JJ isnt (to my knowledge, Brandon, Ari, Eddie should you read this please prove me wrong) adaptable. Thats not to say i cant learn from it. I use twister side every now and then. Every1 should learn what they can from everything. Growth is best shared.

  • no i understand what you meant... and you just contradicted yourself " it is up to the practitioner to select the art that best fits them" then you go on to say the that the 10th planet system isn't adaptable because you can't do it... so you the "practitioner" needs to find a system that better suits you... thats how bjj came about in the first place helio(or carlos whomever's story you believe) couldn't adapt to judo because he was too weak to do throws so he focused on the ground techniques.

  • you're right that statement was contradictory. I should 've stated that rubber guard doesnt appear adaptable. My point however, is ppl should learn what they can from every system they can. I cant kick but I still train Muay Thai for the elbows and clinch work. My nephew trains TKD and Karate I train with him everyday for kick defense and how to clinch against kicks. I hope this clears up our misunderstanding.

  • it sure does... keep training hard bro!

  • then you go on to further contradict yourself by saying the 10th planet system isn't adaptable yet you sometimes use the twister side control??? just because you can't get down one small part of the system the entire system is flawed?? i really don't see what point you're trying to make.

  • man u are a bit nerdy and arrogant aren't u?

  • man, mr. turtle used to be a contender

  • Telles is very good bjj fighter

  • Nice work for a kneebar!
