  • Not even slightly funny...

  • OBLONG!

  • love noel hes amazinggg :) the mighty boosh is my fave programme evaaa :D :D :D xxx

  • I WAS CONTROLLING THE CITY IN TEN MINUTES, WITH OBLONG! THE POWER OF OBLONG. >:D

  • when he said YOUR FINISHED! i was howling.

  • This is similar to the style of flight of the conchords from New Zealand but frenzied as opposed to laconic. But in this one he is capitalising a little more then usual off his crystalline skin and slender build that provides scope for making women fashion conscious.

  • "you don't know the penguin, they'll be embarrassing pauses" so good

  • I love him so much, but he really needs new material. I feel like I've watched this video ten times. I wish he did make more material :\

  • Completely unfunny, yet utterly shagable...

  • I'm literally stunned by his courage. To have the nerve to appear in front of sane, living people with a routine as appalling as that ... or is he so delusional that he actually believes this is first class comedy ?

Noel, sweetie, just because all the girls laugh hysterically at your 'jokes', doesn't mean you're a real grown up comedian.

  • @charlotteBraillie If he wasn't a real grown up comedian, he wouldn't be half as successful as he is now ( which is very). His stand-up is refreshingly odd and hilarious.

  • @xJewlz08x

It WOULD be refreshing, yes, if he didn't reuse the same 10 jokes in every single routine. How often has he done this 'look at you, you cheeky bitches' opening ? Why can't he be bothered to do something new for a change ? Or is he thinking 'Fuck it, people who don't know me, won't have heard it before, and the ones who do, are love crazed Boosh fans who'll laugh at whatever I give them.' ?

  • @charlotteBraillie no taste

  • @josephthemighty

That was 4 months ago, I'm completely turned now. Noel Fielding is the BEST stand up comedian the world's ever seen!!

  • its like poetry :')

  • I fully want to just say oblong now instead of rectangle, though I'm not eighteen yet so maybe I'll stop in June

  • i named my kitten weetabix because of this video because cats are like weetabix hands.. they can be soft and warm or sharp and scratchy.

  • brilliant.

  • Honestly, i love noel fielding but he's just about as funny as me. His actual jokes i mean. He has a lot of fuckin charisma thought.

  • I love that little voice that he does! It makes me laugh every time!

  • @unicornsgalaxy me TOO!!

    AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

  • anyone know where i can find the other part of this set?

with the "killed a chaffinch in flight" skit

  • only heard him do this stand up about a thousand times

  • He reuses a lot of his jokes but it only makes him that much more awesome :D <3

  • @taraahearts All comedians reuse their jokes. They write a strong set and perform the material every night, honing it down to the best stuff, perhaps changing some things here or there, but for the most part delivering the same jokes. If you were to go on tour with a comedian, you would see that it's not unlike touring with a band, where the same songs, more or less, are played every night to a different audience. Some improvise more than others, but generally speaking, this is how it works.

  • @taraahearts THIS KIND OF MENDICANTRY WOULD SAP YOUR WILL TO LIVE.

That's one of the most mindless comments I've ever read.

    Fuks SAKE!!!!

  • He is so funny and I need that shirt!

  • YEEEAAAAAH, THE RODEO :D

  • thanks for uploading this, i remember recording this on vhs when it was shown on tv and watching this on repeat. There is more of this when he talks about his father being a zebra, and how they used to sit in a boat in the garden playing "light tennis" with each other. Anyone have the rest of it? I've lost my vhs unfortunately :(

  • It seems like he's channeling Julian a bit. Just with the fast talking stuff...

  • This was posted on my birthday :) I'll think of it as my birthday present :) Noel: you sexy babe-magnet!

  • ...what just happened and why isn't there any more?

  • Fuk, thats so poor tht only a cuple of pretentious; 'ugly/odd lookin guy' ther4 is perfect 2pertain 2my unique sense of originality, not cos im a big pyl of old SHIT, but cos im so wundaful,. n ORIGINAL, AND UNique..' lonly sycophantesses, cud 'get it'. No doubt acompanied by th eponymous cackle of a david brent lyk lafta, all dry throat n gritted teef hopin 2force conviction by proxy.. and not by reality. U no, the sort tht wud stalk n harass u if u dared question their perfect view of evrythin

  • I tried making my sister say oblong...she said ob-rectangle T_T

    Noel you are a legend!!

  • weetabix hands :D

  • hhahahaha hes sooo adorable and HOT! at the same time!! :D

  • hahahhhahahhahhahahahahhahhahahahahah

its so silly thats its hilarious.

    i love this guy

  • LOOOOL soo funny!!! XD

  • Love Love Love Love him

  • about as funny as a fire in an orphanage

  • I love how as his story gets more and more random his voice gets weirder and weirder. xD Love you, Fielding.

  • Haha he uses the same material in most of his stand-ups but its funny every time :D

  • He sounded like a preacher!!!!

  • its not the laugh out loud type but you just sort of sit back and dont want him to stop what ever he is doing lmao

  • clearly him an julian write the boosh together, so there are elements of both their styles of comedy in all the characters in it. they both did stand up separately before they even met each other. they boht so have similar humour though!

  • sounds a bit like julian barratt "comin at ya" thing

  • Random

  • he said oblong!

  • Six minutes of WAT.

    Noel's fuckin' funny though.

  • and LOL at the old greg voice

  • I love how him and Julian are the only people i have ever seen with this style of standup. It is genius <3

  • I'm so confused! does he even know what he's saying half the time? xD

  • @Bentom08 it's doubtful :')

  • one of my favourite noel standups. so fricken random.

  • he's spiking people with his mindset again... the master

  • He is so weird. I would have laughed so hard if I was there

  • There's a penguin in there...

  • i wish Noel Could be on Ellen

  • D: he is so funny, might not be some people tatse but fuck go complain to your nan

  • does ure nan have weatabix hands

  • @Bloggersaurus there is something so boyish and charming about him. he could talk about anything and be funny. i can't see people not finding him funny.

  • uhhhhhhh

  • I think when he was doing the "shaving" threat, he was actually impersonating Julian Barrat. Tell me if I'm wrong.

  • well its generally a mighty boosh kinda think and julian writes the boosh stuff so pretty much

  • I thought it was meant to be an impression of Ali.

  • I think this is basically a magic mushroom trip translated into stand-up comedy. fair play.

  • in an amazing way- i agree- but im not sure if u mean it in the same way i do-

  • edwards kinda creepy

  • You're finished!!! ^^

  • oblong oblong oblong

    no no rectangle =]

    lol

  • ahahhahhahahahah this is never not funny!!! i have it on my ipod:D

  • hahahaha..fucking so funny..if you dont like noel fielding..feel free to fuck off and get a hemroid

  • the whole eye war thing was like something julian would do..

  • Well, i say Oblong cause i'm a freak :P

  • if you know someone who doesnt think this is funny ask them to say oblong i bet they cant do it no the humour having freaks

  • he sounds more like howard than vince here because of the excessive use of the word "sir"

  • I suppose Noel's sense of humour is one either love or hate. I think I want to love it, but I can't help but cringe at some of the things he does in this.

  • i like the way he says ottors ;p

  • Funny as a character in Mighty Boosh but this is not stand up, god it's just someone talking shit. , Anyone can just be surreal- Weetabix hands!, Heres some more - Toaster for a head! I got chased by a unicorn! I climbed a ladder made of potatoes! Anyone can do this. Ross Noble is worse.

  • I don't think anyone can be surreal like this. Don't you think you're being overly reductive here? Any comedy (or piece of entertainment) can be made to look bad if a person says 'it's just x', or 'it's just y.' I think his (and more so, Julian Barratt's) stand up is very inventive and well delivered - the way the surreal ideas build up on one another and twitch and turn and switch is a joy to behold. It's nice to see new comedy that isn't built around familiar situations, nationalities, or sex

  • Yeaah but... You can be surreal and have more basis to it see Shaun Micaleff , or some of Python. Pure surrealism or nonsense in comedy is just too damn easy to be appeciated. It's like playing tennis with the net down.

  • What absolute balls, go to an open mic night and do your toasterhead bit, see if you get a laugh. You won't because he's not just saying random things, it's all in the delivery like most great stand up. That whole oblong bit is actually just very conventional comedy based on the observation that adults don't say oblong and given the Fielding twist.

And I dare you to do for even 5 minutes what Ross Noble does for more than an hour straight.

You don't have to find it funny but it IS stand up.

  • Noel stop defending yourself on youtube. You're fooling no one with that whole "Dopplershift" thing.

  • hahahaha hillarious!!! oblong oblong oblong

  • That was bizarre.

  • wonderfully bizzare...............

  • he doesnt make it up.. lots of his lines are repeated over shows : /

  • I think if he makes this stuff up on the spot he's funnier than if he writes it.

If you know what I mean?

  • Like ross noble? He makes it up as he goes along. Seriosly.

  • I don't know what y'all are on about, I thought he was hilarious here.

  • He's not that funny here, but he's hilarious on Nevermind The Buzzcocks. XD

  • i think he's hilairious and so does my brother but my dad doesn't. he prefers people like Frankie Boyle who IS funny...just in a different way to Noel

...I think it's just like different people like different comedians

  • There's a penguin in there.

  • im more impressed by his improv rather than his comedy

hes not funny but he has very strong improv skills

  • Weetabix hands!!!

  • they call me the oblong...boy.

    this is brilliant <3

  • i cant understand what he is saying.

  • oblong oblong, watched jon richardson at comedy store ad he said oblong and reminded me of noels standup

  • hes well funny in evrything

  • your crazy he is amazing!!!!

  • Naww he's magic!

  • Actualy he is harlarious, Obviously him,me and many other people have a diffrent sense of humor than you and probly alot of other people.

  • slashbreaker: so i have no sense of humor because i disagree with you? amazing.

  • Can anyone else tell that his intro is in Juilian's style?

  • they both have a smiular style, it's why they decided to partner up when they met. xD

  • haha class, i've seen boosh live, so i win.

  • maybe there's a cyclops in

  • this is so funny :)

  • Noel :D He rocks sooo much Oblong lol

  • haha I herd him starting to talk with an Old Gregg acienct ahhhh The Mighty Boosh rocks! CRACK FOX FTW!!!

  • do You love me? O.o

lmao. He's got so many awesome voices.

  • I would have loved to see this and not known who is was.

  • this is so friggin hilarious :'D i've seen this so many times and it gets funnier every single time!

  • i adore him.

  • Noel =D

    Hes so cool.

    x

  • haha, I've seen this act performed by him at another gig, hilarious! Never gets old!

  • This was odd, to say the least. It's feels like a different kind of comedy.

  • THE POWER OF THE OBLONG! XD

  • Yoghurt and penguins seem to be a recurring theme XD

  • awesome...however, it got really annoying when people all started talking like this...

  • ha! i've heard that oblong joke before.

  • same. is still legendary though. Mighty boosh ftw

  • ahh you can't please everyone right? I think Noel is one of the most naturally funny people out there. he's different, he's charming, he's magical and quite quick and clever, quirky...

He's got a great talent for slipping into different voices, becoming different characters and creating new worlds. He's an artist. I like that he doesnt talk about the same topics that so many other comics do. to me he's always one of the most exciting comics because you never quite know what he's gonna do.

  • This made me giggle and I love the random bizarre insights, but I think Noel is a lot funnier when he has someone else to balance him out.

  • Somewhere in between what the obsessive fan girls say and your opinion lies a fair assessment of noel.

He's not a "facking genius legend omfg roflolzsex god"

but he's also not a 6 year old putting words together

  • I think Noel fielding is genius.

Although I don't think a lot of people get his kind of comedy, don't quite understand it. Which is okay, everyone has their own taste.

But I love his randomness and voices. It's all kind of abstract in a way..

    :)

  • OMG. Dare diss noel. DIE. how could you. He is soooo fit. And he is working the room. I've seen him do better but he is amazing. :D LOVE NOEL SOOOOOOOOO MUCH.

  • and after all is said and done, he is standing up and doing it, and i'm not, so hats of to him, and fuck me, i'm just a nobody.BUT...critisism is allowed isn't it?

  • i am sorry to be so neg-, but i felt compelled to watch this again, and it is worse than bad. this is painfull. he's dying on stage, but no one seems to have realized. people really are sheep. this is an audience of morons. even he knows it, he has no respect for the crowd. check his opening comments about jesus and lepers. o.k. so it is mean't to be a joke, but very revealing all the same. he needsa good holiday.

  • if its soooo terrible why did you "feel compelled" to watch it again?

  • i felt "compelled" (look it up in the dictionary) because it is soooo terrible.i love good stand up, but this is a messy car crash in slow motion.i'll tell you what is really sad though, the fact that i've come back to check on reactions to my comments. i must be a bigger wanker. oh well, sigh.

  • compel(verb): to have a powerful and irresistible effect or influence

    now im a little confused...

if noel fielding has such a powerful and irresistable effect on you it doesnt really make much sense that you would hate him so much.

  • you REALLY have no idea what you're talking about.

  • Ok.. Hes quite funny but tbh it doesnt take a genius to go on stage and say something really random and go off on a tangent...

  • I believe it does sir. 2 Have 100 people staring at you waiting for to say something funny. i cant think of anything more nerve racking

  • Yes it is, I appreciate what hes doing but, its just really random all the stuff he says. :)

  • Lol it is. I actually prefer bill bailey, lee evans and dylan morlan. I think this guy should stick to mighty boooosh.

  • mmm he yummy lol

  • What Year ???

When I watch Noel & Julian doing solo standup they never have the same magic as they are together as the The Mighty Boosh.

  • this is hilarious! fielding's style is so visual. makes total sense what became of him...

  • this make no sense at all

    but i love it

  • sorry but im a huge noel fielding/might boosh fan but im also a huge lee evans fan aswel i find both hillarious in different ways its all opinion not a competition

  • i love Noel Fieldings comedy cos its not like everyone elses stuff...lol and i love The Mighty Boosh (Y)

  • i love noel fielding to bits but hes not very funny

  • i find noel fielding and julian barrat and people of that comedy, but i find lee evans and that stuff boreing, but still, i wonder how mant replys im gonna have saying im wrong

  • Where do you find them?

  • your not wrong..i agree (Y)

  • This guy is like an invisible cat with wings who fly's about like a bird and shits onto the floor to wind up a ghost dog, then fly's away laughing, then catches his reflection and realises he's infact a fly. I like this guy but if talking shit is all what this audience require to laugh, then they can come around my house and I will do it for half the price. I live in a little hole in the wall, im a mouse with cows legs or a cow with a mouses head, im a cowse....

  • difference is, when noel fielding does it its funny, yours is quite embarassing for us all

  • This guy's incredibly random and wanders off into accents and obscure examples all the time...and yet, he's actually pretty fucking funny XD

  • such bad quality

  • "Like an enormous wall"

"He must've been in a small cannon"

    I love his descriptions.

  • i like this dude..alot..mighty boosh is awesome..but i wouldnt pay to go watch this crap

  • im impressed he actually said nothing and is very rich now, amazing

  • youtube wars till the bitter end ;)

  • haha dont you love youtube wars

ps i'll shove you in there like a... bitch

  • I LOVE NOEL!!

  • DiJone, are you posessed??? By a twat? who give a fuck bout grammar, lets all just dress up as unicorns and stroll around the most unexpected places to see unicorns...

  • Now now.. lets be nice.. with the exception, sorry Ransom1337olo, of lee evans.. you really think that's good comedy? ouch.. Sure, Noel may rely on funny wording, but at least the wording is funny.. Lee Evans's whole bit is "look at me!! i can run around and shout things at the top of my lungs and pretend like i stutter" oh yeah, that's brilliant that is
