this discussion has been thought provoking. Not that anybody has said anything interesting, its thought provoking like when a deranged gun nut shoots down a bunch of people in Arizona. @ mattlove1: Singing on stage ain't nothin' like karaoke bozo..., Try singing as loud as you can, and see if you last 1 hour 45 minutes. If you happen to succeed,- then try adding Iggy's constant moving and jumping around. I think you'll soon realize that even people in their 20's will find this to be a hard act to follow. "Wrinkly old man" my ass.. That torso carries the scars and wounds from 43 years on the music battlefield- years ahead of anybody else.
@flipperguy What makes you think that I don't know anything about singing on stage? You can't see the difference between scars and wrinkles? When you get older, your skin looses elasticity, it happens to everybody. Iggy is in his mid-60s, it's not surprising he looks like this - actually my dad looked better in his 90s, but he took better care of himself. I'm a few years younger, but I'm ages ahead in wisdom, I keep my shirt on.

Besides, you just can't ignore the fact that the chord structure on Search and destroy, Raw power, Down on the street, No fun amongst many other are just brilliant. in all their simplicity. In 100 years, they will still be remembered. Because their music is timeless. Play "Funhouse", you'll realize

@leand687 I know it's threatening to hipsters of every nationality when you pull the clothes off their emperors (though Iggy helpfully does that himself, saving me the effort) so I understand your fear and insecurity. Let it all out, if it makes you feel better resort to all the infantile insults and swear words you can think of. It doesn't bother me, I'm serene. You know why? Because my wife goes way beyond me on this, she finds Iggy absurd and repulsive.

You in your youthful innocence think you know all about punk rock and the world. Well, that is the special condition of the young, they know everything, and they can't tolerate the complexity of the real world. Some people think they can avoid growing up, like Iggy Pop and Keith Richards - but to me it seems pathetic and disturbing - like bad santas and alcoholic clowns.
