@tblanc21 Well, if you really are 23, it's too late already! You have to pass the first test at the age of 17-19 years. Then, at 19-20years, you have to join the army and become a liutenand. After that you have to study science of aviation in Winterthur while passing several tests again. Then you can join the pilot school in Locarno and become a SAF-Pilot, but you have to be one of the best to fly jets...

Please... no wrong glorification because of the "Top-Gun"-movie, The F14 is no more in use in the US-Airforce - and this has some reasons. It was all the time a Jet with trouble and difficulties and of course it gives Jets who can top the F14

You can say: switzerland HAS not a army - it IS a army :-) Perhaps your comment is written to a other adress. In my comment is no text about pilots or the Top Gun-school. My point was the F14. On what school however teachers will teach - it makes the jets not better. Perhaps you confuse jets with pilots ...and the "Top Gun"- MOVIE with the real school?

Only funny thing is all the comments about the swiss airforce being the best airforce in the world. As far as I know none of their pilots have seen any real combat action as Switzerland has been neutral as long as they have an airforce... I´m sure they have some very skilled flyers, because of the perfect training ground that is Switzerland, but there´s a difference between training and real warfare.

You can say who seems to be in good or bad condition, who has new or old equipment.... i would agree that the swiss pilots make a good job - and the german army is progressive armoured.... about US Special forces im not sure.. there it is even not clear how many it gives of them.. its only clear that they are not all so "special" and "best"
