I loved the tiger temple... But not anymore, its a sham! Wheres this tiger island they were building so the tigers could run free and learn how to hunt etc? Most of the tigers if not all the tigers at the temple are from tiger breeding farms!! They are not rescued from hunters etc they are just used to make money now... India has realized that the population density has been increasing while the population estimate has been decreasing. Presumably due to habitat destruction. If tigers slept so deeply, as one tourist commented on, that they could not feel themselves being dragged around by the throat, the species would be extinct in the wild. It is also correct, that a sedated animal can be dangerous, but give the animal enough sedative and they are completely helpless and out cold.
Tigers are not durgged or being abused in any way. Tigers sleep 18 hours a day. They hunt and are active at night, from sunset to sunrise. During the day, they are sleepy and not very active. That is when it is safe for tourists to touch. Don't forget, Thailand is very warm place. Look at what your cat is doing during the day, especially during summer, they sleep all day long.

I've been there and filmed for a television show that helped expose the so called abbots for what they are doing. The Tigers are systematically abused and exploited for the benefit of misinformed tourists. By paying money to see these poor tigers you are personally helping to enslave them. The only way this type of abuse will stop is if tourist make educated decisions when traveling abroad.

Can I suggest that anyone watching this video browse the web for an alternative view. There is a considerable amount of information on the internet linking this tourist attraction with tiger trading. Whatever the truth is, this place has NOTHING whatever to do with conservation. None of the tigers they breed or sell will ever be released into the wild. The few tigers that are left in the wild should be the real focus of our attention.

the tigers have to be caged sometimes as they will fight if left all together at such a high densitiy. it is for the safety of the humans and each other. also they are totally imprinted and cannot go back to the wild. with no fear of people they're likely to run into serious trouble.
they are monks who look after these tigers and monks do not believe in hurting or even keeping animals captive. these are wild tigers that live around the temple and come to the monks for food and water and shelter. they are all laying about as it is very very hot and thats what tigers do in the middle of the day. i know not all tiger places are like this one but this one is ok. the only problem is that they do chain them up when people are amongst them, which is fair enough really.

I've been there and filmed for a television show that helped expose the so called abbots for what they are doing. The Tigers are systematically abused and exploited for the benefit of misinformed tourists. By paying money to see these poor tigers you are personally helping to enslave them. The only way this type of abuse will stop is if tourist make educated decisions when traveling abroad.

Monks are suppose to be compassionate to all animalsthe monks here kick, punch & drag them by their tails into place for photographs.they feed them dog& cat food, cooked chicken so most of the tigers are probably malnourished.This place also supports the illegal animal trade because theyre constantly buying baby tigers because the tigers there dont even live past 2 yrs old.They say that the tigers live freely but they live in cages& tied to leashes.If u go here u are only supporting animal cruel

Can I suggest that anyone watching this video browse the web for an alternative view. There is a considerable amount of information on the internet linking this tourist attraction with tiger trading. Whatever the truth is, this place has NOTHING whatever to do with conservation. None of the tigers they breed or sell will ever be released into the wild. The few tigers that are left in the wild should be the real focus of our attention.

another reason that the tigers are not in good health is coz they are breading and there is not a big gean pool so there is in breading please please dont viste tiger land well atleast look into it properly before you go the big tour companys are not doing trips there anymore i understand why people want to go id love to myself but never will if we stop goin it will end simple as that then when there is no money to me made the tigers maybe rehomed in a zoo or somthing like lets hope anyway

your an idiot, there are tigers on the border of laos/thailand/myanmar borders, and most of the tigers at the temple may have been confiscated from the black market, not bought as you say.... the parents were mostlikely hunted and the cubs were captured after the pochers have killed the parents. I was offered real tiger fur in thailand over chrissy/new years, the man said it was shot 2 weeks earlier in Laos/thai border, i wanted to shoot him when I came across this

sure its a money spinner, but the tiger temple recieves all stray animals, not just tigers, there are water bufallow, cows, pigs, chicken, dogs, cats, monkeys ect.... and they all live free, they are bulding a section from the revenue they recieve to house the tigers in large multi acre natural allotments, after being offered a fresly skinned tiger and i wasnt even looking for it, i cant see how the wild tigers will survive the next 10 years.

it is so wrong what they do to these beautifull animals! they drug them and there is no meat in their diet, they are carnivores tigers in the wild do not sleep all day , I can bet money that there are no tigers there that are over 8 yrs old! In good Zoos they can live 15-20 yrs! In this stupid so called "temple" they are constantly breeding them! 90% of their tigers dont live past two years! they are a bunch of FAKES!!!

I know... the first Time I went to Thailand on 1998 there are only 2 tigers in the temple... Now it's like a zoo, I don't know about drugs or something else but they trap the tigers with heavy weights and chain to make possible an safe for tourist to pet the animals... It' simply cruel... The monks don't have respect for the tigers... :-((((

This is an amazing place to visit and the monks look after the Tigers they are dedicated to giving them a healthy happy life .........Thai people are the most humble race I have met....they give and receive little...............

@misssilapa1 ..... monks need support cuz they are independent. this is true, but it supposable started from a tiger mother passing with its cubs left alone, so i think it was good for the monks to raise the tigers, im just saying its ok, but not to say to them they are not meant to be monks.... for all we know if it wasnt for the tigers maybe the monks would not exist today.... and think what a shame huh. and sure you give donations not due to the tigers, but some people would not.

I like the Love bite! My cat at home...only 80 pounds heavier! Be happy the Tigers are alive..and go Vegitarian if your against animal cruelty....or at the least take the animal you pay to have other kill so your hands are clean. Thank the animal you eat, so that you can live without changing your lifestyle. Vegitarians in India for thousands of years, so it works. And Indian can be huge powerful people on veggie diet. @surathisuran Don't worry, you are getting what you're asking for. The tigers in wild are disappearing. There are now a lot less than 3500 tigers in wild. The number is shrinking very fast. In about several years, they may really go extinct. Tiger WILL become the next panda. You can see it in zoo but not in wild.
You better start appreciating the great thing this temple is doing. They simple need money from tourist to feed tigers, not to buy Mercedes S class.

the tigers have to be caged sometimes as they will fight if left all together at such a high densitiy. it is for the safety of the humans and each other. also they are totally imprinted and cannot go back to the wild. with no fear of people they're likely to run into serious trouble.

they are monks who look after these tigers and monks do not believe in hurting or even keeping animals captive. these are wild tigers that live around the temple and come to the monks for food and water and shelter. they are all laying about as it is very very hot and thats what tigers do in the middle of the day. i know not all tiger places are like this one but this one is ok. the only problem is that they do chain them up when people are amongst them, which is fair enough really.

Hey, it may be "questionable", but what would you rather do have them run around out in the wild and have half of those beautiful creatures kiled by some sick fuck. Think about it, be realistic. Thailand's a little different then the western world, they kill these beautiful animals for fun and skin them and leave everything else! Not too sweet.. They saved this tigers ass eventhough they treat it bad sometimes. They have to for an animal that is as alpha as they come.

I was unhappy when I had abuse as a kid...later I noticed abuse everywere in life...final I learned about my karma and how I abused myself inside..... now I see beauty often, and abuse almost never....because transending abuse is better...now I teach other about healing...which kills abuse inside...and outside too.
