Agree with all, would like to see secession become a reality, but unfortunately every time the topic comes up someone has to define the South as "Christian". My fear is that secession will bring about a new nation that is a theocracy where so-called "Christian values" are forced on the minority who do not define themselves as Christian. We currently live under the oppressive "religion" of Political Correctness and I'm not keen on replacing it with another jacklegged standard of morality.

the chinese and others are building derricks outside our waters to drill for oil and making deals all over the world for energy while we sit and watch. alternative energies have to be profitable to make it and get investment. we should have built train systems in the 50s and 60s similar to japan. i have been there and it is very efficient but we all want our own cars to burn gas and diesel, interesting problem but cannot be solved by massive federal government

i like what you said about alternative energy. yes we should convert to natural gas as much as possible. the problem is we have bought into a global economic mess. i live on a farm and solar would costs about 25000 to install, wind is not an option here in georgia except off the coast and expensive without getting much back and storage systems are not good enough. nuclear is good but we have not built any new ones for 30 years while other countries are building them

@tranurse The US was a Confederation until 1865. The founders never would have put a Corporate Government in place that was superior to the States. They fought a war to free all of the states/nations from British control allowing them to retain authority over their areas. King George individually aknowledged all of the states sovereignty. New England Yankees wanted a return to the British imperial system which is what we have now. The transformation was started in 1868 and completed in 1876.

ASO2474, You have obviously gone to state sponsored school; The Union was voluntary, the states voted to join or not join. Several states have succession clauses in their state constitutions. The federal empire defeated Mexico but didn't force Mexico in the Union. Canada was virtually defeated but was not force in the Union. You need to home school yourself on the Constitution. The US did not secede from the British. They kicked them out by force of arms. Britain was a militarily and industrially superior nation. In short, the colonies won. In contrast, the Confederacy lost. It was a nice try and the Confederacy fielded the best armies of the time, but they still lost.

E, Southrons share a common culture. White Southrons are overwhelmingly Celtic in orgin. Most are at least partly Ulster-Scots. In my native SC almost all the Whites are Ulster-Scots, except along the coast. We are a western European people, speakers of our dialect of the English language. The Black population is West African in orgin and pretty homogenous as well and shares many of the cultural aspects of Dixie.
