everyone seems to use a bandsaw to make the cut outs but is it possible just to clamp the wood and use a jigsaw?

you might seriously consider a glove whether a carvers glove or just a good leather one. it can sure save some some high dollar doctor bills!!!

they can cut tendons, cartilage and lots of other goodies!!!

this can result in plastic expensive surgery.
