Oh I understand it already! This quote has been on my mind for a day,I finally got it. He meant that he considered the guitar as an 'object itself' before stating his opinion about it. He is a genius!
Those are some beautiful words said at the beginning of the video. But can someone please explain them to me? It asserts a contradiction: "I consider the guitar objectively", the word 'objectively' suggest that he is to represent a statement which is not influenced by personal feelings or opinions. However, what he says next is at variance with the latter quote. I'm sorry, English is not my arterial language and I'm only 15. I'm just curious what Segovia meant, as it really puzzles me. Help?
@PlanktonPoker I think when he uses the word objectively in this context he is expressing his earnest attempt to distance himself from his own subjectivity i.e. his personal love of the instrument.
in general i'm more of a metal player but i loved this song so much that i learnt it, and while i can't play it anywhere near segovias level of... segovia-ness, it is still one of my favourite songs to play :)
Rumour has it that, on the day Segovia died, this piece of music was open on his music stand....It could be the last piece he ever played.....RIP maestro.
I love the Catalonian Folk Songs, of which this piece is from.
I haven't heard Segovia since way back in the late 1970s or early 1980s at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, one of the top acoustically balanced performance halls in the entire world.
In this recording Maestro Segovia sounds wonderful. I enjoyed his sensitive approach, his musical phrasing, and his excellent, rich, colorful tone production make his performance, and this piece, just sound wonderful.
I try to emulate his sensitivity, emotional attachment to the piece, i find that more beautiful than the music itself and thats why i play this song.

How moving it is that a grand master says "this was my destiny" in his last years. What has been your destiny?
Thank you, master. You gave us so much joy and happiness.

All is almost silent now,.. only a faint echo remains.
