It is an outstanding live band... but what really blows me away is how the general public and critics have forgotten or even ignored them.

Their last 3 albums where awesome and more so if you compare them to, for instance, U2s last 3 ones.

Believe me, if you go to the Simple Minds website and read Jim Kerr's blogs, they never play for the sake of it, it is their passion and love every minute of writing, recording and performing. Every album of theirs is different, and I have the entire collection. They are at their peak musically as Jim would tell you.

Simple Minds is my favorite band. That sounds like an idiot speaking, but I have owned thousands of albums/tapes/cds, and I really can't come up with any band that offers more of a sense of importance while maintaining great catches and universally appreciated licks and rhythms while staying within each song's individual interest timelength. I do my best to sing along with Kerr 8-9 tunes in my weekly 4 hour top-volume singing-to-tunes workout. His strong voice is overwhelming and unmatchable.
