We're a MULTI-Cultural society, We consist of Chinese, Malays, Indians and Eurasians. It doesn't mean that by singing the National Anthem in malay, means we speak malay in everyday life. Majority of Singaporeans (Including me) speaks English. Majulah Singapura!(Onward Singapore!)
Hey I remember this! I seen this when I was a little kid in the National Stadium! Even though I am now Singaporean-Canadian. I am still proud of my homeland.
its different when u sing in school and at a parade like this...the triumphant feeling is awesome..i experience it before..at that moment..i was damn proud to be a sporean..heh..
<salutes> I dont know why... But looking at the flag flying up high with the helicopters... Always give me a special feeling... Ever since i was a small kid... I would stand in front of the TV and salute the passing flag...

In schools, we raise the flag every morning while singing the national anthem and all eyes should be looking at the flag that is rising.

normally its on the flagpole, only for special occasions like National Day :)
My school actually plays the national anthem live by the Millitary Band rather than using the recorded version every monday morning woohoo XD
