  • Bhupinder is the best singer of emotional songs. This video has a nice ending. Usually in cds and cassettes, the song ends abruptly.

  • Such a virile, boomimg, yet melodious voice. Had I been born a girl I would fall for him straightaway.

  • what a song...what soul-rending music. Who are those 4 idiots who couldn't like it??!!

  • When Mumbai was Bombay...and you could only see fiat & Ambassador cars on the road.....

  • Amol Paekar..Elegence personified. Master of under play.

Meaningful lyrics and soulful music. Why the magic is not there in movies anymore despite the phenomenal advances in technology....

  • @bjornsiborgsi @manjit1967

aabodana is actually a combination of two words "AAB" which means WATER and "DANA" which refers to FOOD (literally grains)...

As for HOME / PLACE TO LIVE the word used in the song is AASHIANA...

  • bhupinder was actually an instrumentalist in r.d. burman's band.

  • new generation singers and Poet should learn something from this......

Absolute Gem of a Lyrics and Equally well sung by the great Bhupinder.......

  • Aabodana is an arabic, farci, Urdu word. Aab means "WATER' Dana is food

  • Great voice and such simple yet powerful picturaisation! It gives a sense of yearning and how a search for an abode can become so painful and take over all your living moments and energy. Thanks a lot for this song.

  • @gupta41 insightful comment. someitmes what comes to us seems to b a misfit. unfortunate, thts how it is.

  • what is the mean of 'Aabodana'

    Aabodana dhundhta hai

  • @somu2508 aabodana in this song means "home" or a "place for the night". you can liken it to a bird's nest, or a place to rest.

  • Thank you for uploading this song.

  • It is a fabulous song !!

  • i think bhupender sahab wasnt given the due credit he should get ,he was indeed a very talented singer with a very contemprary voice, that directly touches the heart.

  • A few songs as appealing as this one. The very voice of the singer is extremely sad and fit with the lyrics. Both the voice and lyrics leave an everlasting impression on the listener whether he has memories or not. The song indeed is more bewitching for those who have lived lives in dissipation and loneliness. However, it's equally worth for the others too.

  • the song, although sung a while ago, is still very relevant to Mumbaikars....apart from a few cosmetic changes all the other aspects have remained static. Garondha was a perfect in all sense!

  • This song always makes me cry! Take me back into the painful but sweet memories where my family shift from old house to new house .that period is so hard to us

  • memories of good old bombay...

  • This song always makes me cry! Take me back into the painful but sweet memories where me and my Brother got job in Mumbai and we were looking for a place to live! Our salary was a month away and had little money and no friends or family was in Mumbai. I remember everything, every street, nights, days and all.

BTW thanks for uploading this beautiful song.

  • 'Din KhAAli KhAAli bartan haiN

    marNey ka bahana dhoondta hai'

That is the sum of it all!

  • I understand what u r talking about Ansari. Going through same thing over n over again since last 8 years in US. Every holiday be it American or Indian, I feel lonely as no one here understands how Indian holidays are celebrated n even worse are American holidays, as everyone goes back home and university n city gets almost empty making me feel as if there's curfew in the city. Today's such a day since it's thanksgiving weekend n I am all alone again n hence listening this amazing number!

  • @Kingpin1234567 Yes I am doing well. Thanks .. this makes me emotional too that you cared to ask even though you don't know me. Today after 12 years I am in US but this song just takes me back "there" in just seconds :)

  • @st471438 Songs like these remind us of our days in Mumbai. Although, Mumbai is not the city it used to be. People there have too much money. I like when people from India/Mumbai prosper but, I don't like it when they spend it lavishly. I've been in US too for the past 10+ yrs

  • @st471438 wow do you have a blog that I can read? I have faced similar situation but in Washington DC. In ways I had it little better and yet much worse.
