I knew a kid in high school that looked and sounded like Frank Nitti in this film (he even had the menacing grin of bad teeth). He eventually quit the basketball team, dropped out of high school, and went to prison for robbing a gas station.
Great scene - saw this when it first came out. Everyone in the theater cheered when Nitti died. I prefer if he fell directly onto the ground and watch him splatter everywhere! Then when Stone asks where's Nitti, the reply: "He's on the street!"
@Switcherer Maybe! Depending on how the DA decides to prosecute. But throwing a guy off a roof definitely always results in death. There was no question about the outcome and I could see a DA knocking the charge down to 2nd degree. So I do take your point.

The only thing i don't like about this otherwise perfect scene, is that when they zoom in on Nitti's face after he's falling, he looks almost calm. 0:18 If you we're falling off a roof, your eyes would be wide open, not half closed. You know they just filmed him on a sound stage standing still and waving his arms, but they could have at least made him look more scared.
