  • God can be experienced in one's soul. There is no way one can describe how amazing the experience is which is ongoing. The bible is nothing but a book describing the road to experiencing God within oneself. God is love. A love that is beyond the human love we experience everyday. It is a physical sensation that comes into the body the soul and changes one's relationship with the material world.

  • Why did you not accept my commentarym just because i do not agree with you?

  • Why do you have to find God when you go within? This is a preconcept. When Buddhists look inside they dont find any god but emptiness.

  • @ruzickaw They usually do not go deeply enough, because if they did, they would find God at the center of their being.

  • @ruach2351 Have you ever practiced buddhist meditation , to find out how deep it goes? I doubt.

  • @ruzickaw of course.

  • @ruach2351 I respect your work so much, I see the negative satanic people full of haughtiness and arrogance trying to tear you down, because you have stepped out of the traditional false teachings that we have all been taught to believe. Some people would rather continue being deceived instead of researching and thinking outside of the box. People who say we only find emptiness when we look within and not god, are speaking of their own dark souls. I love you father peter!!!

  • Please show me Bible verse about Christian Mysticism. There is not such thing, I forgive you, but you need to stop telling lies because you are accountable for your teaching. Please you are an abomination to Christ. You must stop preaching this.

  • @AschersOil Everything about Jesus was mystical. His saying bread and wine was his body and blood is mystical. He conversations with his father was mystical experience of God. Anything not definable to the 5 senses, whereby a person experiences something higher than those, is mystical - by definition. Please read up on the definition of words before you make rash judgments or other people St. Teresa, St. Francis with the stigmata were mystics.

  • @ruach2351 I can understand why you feel that JC was mystic, it common misleading teaching of this age. I think you are confusing "mystical" with "spiritual". Please read the Bible before calling yourself a christian. God the father is not a nebulous god a "something" higher. Jesus did not contemplate his relationship, he prayed and glorified. Mysticism by most definition relates to the occult which the Bible repeatedly and forcefully rejects. Regarding your title "Father" read Mtthw 23:9.

  • @ruach2351 I agree, Father Peter's teachings do confirm my own experiences in my life and especially as a Christian.

  • Once you call yourself a mystic, you can be pretty sure you ain't one.

  • @NonDramaZone This is a completely ridiculous comment. Once you call yourself a Christian, you aren't one?

Please examine your mind for clarity. Try this: If you call yourself a republican or a democrat, you aren't one? You see how silly this is?

  • @TranshumanCyborg Yes, human beings are the conscious extension of the Trinity, being made in the spiritual likeness of God. We are divine beings, just covered over with so much negation as to be almost unrecognizable as divine because of our choice to be dark and negative.

  • I'm a muslim mystic and I am able to agree with ALL of what this man has got to say. When you strip all religions down to their mystical level, the message is all the same.

Keep searching for the truth ! Open your minds ! Try to make sense !

Love for all, hate for none :)

  • THIS MAN IS NOT AN ORDAINED RC PRIEST,EVEN THOUGH HES TRYING TO PASS HIMSELF OFF AS ONE, MAY GOD FORGIVE HIM.

  • I guess they didn't want to hear what I had to say. Oh well!

  • Wow, I've been a mystic all along and didn't know it

  • wow its funny how jesus never used the word mysticism - the word should even be used nor associated with the born again christian... so this guy supports these other false faiths? what about a born again spirit filled christian doesnt need to dabble in this mysticism... its a trendy word... for sure but the teacher is the holy spirit..

i could say that mysticism is related to the new age movement... so its bogus

  • @loudmouthspeaker So I take it, then, that you're a "born-again" Christian? Why are you bitter? Jesus never seemed to come across that way to me. Are you sure you aren't fooling yourself here?

  • @loudmouthspeaker Why should Jesus use the word, since it is as modern as the word, "Jesus Christ". A Spirit filled IS considered a "Christian-mystic" displaying the POWER of the Holy gifts. We don't dabble..we learn to meditate even if alone-I DID and did not know I was meditating- another word is, "being in the Spirit" - John used this word in Revelations. Easier to say meditation. It is NOT related to anything New Age- study HISTORY or "New 20th Century Book of Religious Knowledge" get smart

  • I am a humble servant of our Lord Jesus Christ. I have received words to say from the Holy spirit and have been amazed. the Bible has been opened up to me and I understand how many are called but few are chosen. I understand the new Jerusalem and that God lives with us and around us. I have felt the hand of Mary our Holy mother on my head and have beenblessed as she brought me to her son. Will you teach me Father as I feel that I need structure. It is when I contemplate that wisdom is revealed

  • father Peter, i have experianced a massive mystery in my life. I have been transported to the foot of the cross. I have watched as my God gasped for air stretched out from the cross, a piece of his holy flesh stuck to his beard and wounded on every inch of his body. I am constantley hungry for God, I want to know him more and more. He has taught me more than I have a right to know but still I hunger for him. I have seen heaven opened up for me, displaying the levels of the saints and angels

  • Hey,is Telekinesis from God,since Humans can do Telekinesis,is it from God because if it is evil, why would it be a part of us if it from God and he is against evil?

  • @MittensMr Telekenesis is real and happens to alot of people. There is one Mind and it is God's mind. But no evil is generated from God. It is generated from created beings who have free will

    Father Peter

  • @ruach2351 So,it's not against Christianity?I'm not Christian for a fact-used to be-as well as a Wiccan.Now an Atheist.So is it against God?

  • Helo Father. My name is eoin. Your videos are very helpfull. I spend alot of time in prayer. However, i feel that i come under what can only be described as extreem attack from my own mind and emotions. This attack comes in the form of a deep and aggressive awarness of my faults as i approach God. This makes it very hard for me to open up to God.

At times i even despaired and felt bitter-On the other hand, in the brief monents when i overcome, i find i have a tremendous love for others. Am i ill?

  • @sgt7 You are being plagued by a demon that wants you to feel discouraged and in despair. You have to ask for Mother Mary to help you remove this by prayers to her. She has her foot on the serpent and knows how to help you.

  • @ruach2351 Thank you for your help. only last week my mother gave me a set of rosary beads.

  • I'm Catholic and I enjoy what this guy has to say. Ain't no thang.

  • great teachings

  • Protestants who like to play dress up.

  • @Farkel44 That was mean-spirited and not even remotely loving of people - even apparently of your enemies.

  • I believe Jesus and He alone on the subject. See John Ch. 3. and John 14:6

  • Want to know God? Want to have everything that is good in life and more?

Love God like crazy and hold on to that feeling. Love God like you never love anything greater.

LOVE GOD SO MUCH YOU WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR HIM. LOVE GOD.

But I just think no man can love God unless God gives that love first. Man can hardly love his neighbor and have a strong selfish tendencies.

I can't love God like that...but I know the way.

  • I disagree with "there's always a teacher/ student" paradigm. Once you hit the source there's no need for anything else.

  • Thank you.I know this but had trouble putting in words. I have been told by my spiritual director that I am a mystic but didn't really know what he was talking about. This is how I am not something I do on purpose.

  • my first experience of God was when i had my first communion

  • I am interested in eastern philosophy but I have deep respect for christian mystics and other mystics.

  • ,,,, im just wondering what is your view... on the scripture that Jesus said "call no man on earth your father, for you have one Father and He is in heaven".............. and then people are called father............

  • if god made everything then who or what made god?

maybe god made a thing to go back in time and make him self. if so then why didnt he give one to us to stop us from doing wrong or what ever?

  • The Alpha and Omega always existed, our human concept of time does not apply to God.

  • Father Peter,

When you meditate, does your experience ALWAYS include a bright white light? It is powerful and it burns the inside of my body almost, you know? Is this the "Illumination" you speak of in one of your videos? I've talked to others who "meditate", and some think I'm foolish. I just believe myself to be more aware and more sensitive spiritually than most. When I was in preschool I used to cover my eyes with my hands and watch the shapes and stars.

    And I'm the 4,444 viewer. :)

  • @lVibrant814 This light can burn as the negative energy causes a form of resistance to the higher vibration of the light. this light that you are seeing is the light of Christ or the light from God if you like. The burning will go away after you have cleansed off the negation. But the Illumination is an initiation that can be preceded by experiences of light such as you are having.

  • Who would be the best authors to read to find out about Christian mysticism? Any suggestions would be gratefully received...

  • Look up st. Francis; Teres of Avila Interior Castles, Hildegard Von Bengem, Parmahansa Yogananda.

  • @ruach2351 @elsabiosecalla The name is Hildegard von Bingen. And I would like to add Meister Eckhart (sometimes spelled Eckehart) here - my personal favourite.

  • @elsabiosecalla I would read the Joys of St. Francis; the Interior Castle by Teresa of Avila and Paramahansa Yogananda's book Autobiography of a Yogi for starters.

You can read Mother Clare Watts's book Giving Birth to God or my book, The Word Within.

  • Blessed Saint Padre Pio ...one of our times Greatest catholic mystic is a good example

  • He keeps looking down. hes making everything up on the spot hahaha

  • Then I'm a mysticist. Therefore, to call myself an atheist would be in this case empty semantics. Therefore it would be nice if the world was transformed by these mystical teachings so utterly wisely so as to transform the world for the better...

  • Father,

Do you feel that the Christ taugh mysticism to his inner circle of disciples and something different to the masses?

My opinion is,respectfully,it was possible that he did.

Do you think YHSVH taught QBL and alchemy?

  • Jesus definitely taught he inner teachings to the apostles. he taught how energy moves and other things of the priesthood, which would include alchemy, but not how the psychic folks think of it or the Cabalists.

  • Fr. Ruach I understand as a Catholic that God is not an "energy"but a Divine Person, with a Divine Intellect, Memory and Will. I find it strange that you use this terminology to refer to the teachings of Jesus to His disciples. It sounds New Age to me... would u pls clarify.

  • I would venture to you my friend, that you are one that he speaks of who believes but does not understand. The Bible itself speaks to those who claim a religion but deny the power therof. Perhaps you have followed the religion about Jesus, rather than the religion of Jesus. Greater works than these shall you do... were the words of the Saviour, when did that stop? What you refer to as New Age is actually older than the Bible itself.

  • @gtr362 Having a relationship with Jesus is higher than reading about Jesus. Reading the Bible is less than knowing and loving Jesus directly.

  • @Teresitaddw But What word would U use to describe God's Spirit? It comes from the Hebrew word, "Ruach" and also means WIND and BREATH, it has been called force or energy, it is all these things and more. The Holy Spirit indwelled Jesus and also indwells the celibate Christian Mystic, I would say HE as he communes with us, but "Ghost" is improper and a term for spiris of the dead.It is difficult for a spiritual person to communicate in terms easily understood.

  • religion always seemed so empty to me until i discovered the mystic and the occult aspects of it. Its great to have found your videos. i look forward to watching the rest of them.

  • I would have thought that mysticism is for everyone and that you really can't become a fulfilled human being without it. Isn't the experience of God that the common man has in some sense mystical?

  • If a person was having a real experience of God, then that would be a mystical experience. Just knowing words form a book is not mystical, because there is no experience yet. Anyone can have a real experience of God, but those who want that are quite rare, actually. The common person doesn't want anything to do with something real and life changing. That includes vast multitudes of perople.

  • The common person doesn't want anything to do with something real and life changing? I don't believe that. There are too many people looking for answers to their spiritual sides. Being afraid of a life-changing experience and not wanting it are two different things, Father. Sorry.

  • You are right, there is a difference between being afraid of something life-changing and not wanting it are very different. I hope, like you feel, that there are a whole lot more people wanting real mystical experiences than it appears there are.

  • What is the first step a seeker must take to achieve a profound inner experience of God? What do I do?

  • great vid i am just begining to study this can you recommend any great books?

  • Giving birth to God by Mother Clare Watts

The Word Within by Father Peter Bowes

Autobiography of a Yogi - Parmahansa Yogananda

The Little Flowers of Saint Francis

    All great mystical books.

  • I am very thrilled to find Christian mystics speaking on this path. I was trying to learn on my own while I was on the Catholic path, but church itself was not about mysticism (although Catholicism has a very good mystical path), so I moved to Self-Realization Fellowship to learn hands-on from teachers. Thanks, Father Peter. Good stuff.

  • I'd love to see a series of videos on Christian Mysticism. There's not much other than this on youtube from what I've found.

  • Much of what I say and teach is the mystical path. I will definitely do more videos. Keep watching. thanks

    Father Peter

  • very well said. I have been searching for long and experieced many ways of Mysticism. All I know today is that 'Jesus, all are theives and robbers, they are wolves in sheeps clothing'. I trusted jesus and he saved me. He is my guru. his yoke is light and his lordship is tender. Discover him and you will not want anything else. Yes, it's true we are the light of this world and discover it through Jesus and you will be safe and secure.

  • Amen..Jesus stated:

"The kingdom of God is within you"

I forget which verse, but its within the Gospel of John, and also more explicitly in the Gospel of Thomas.

  • "It is not for everyone, it is for those who really want to know" (through experience)... beautifully stated.

  • When Jesus spoke in parables he told the Apostles, his inner students, that he would explain the inner meaning to them alone and not to the masses. that means there is a much deeper teaching for those who are more intensely committed to the spiritaul process.

  • If this is true, being christian mysticism, then why not is it not represented in scripture?

  • It is in Scripture, look at the very example of Jesus (as a Jewish mystic). Think about the times that he went up a mountain to pray etc

  • its under listening to your elders.
