  • True that there was a high unemployment rate during the great depression, but imagine if everyone who was unemployed had to go stand outside the office today, it would take a week to get in. Granted unemployment isn't as high as far as %, but the jobs aren't there, and the bad thing is the jobs lost in this economy are not coming back as computers have replaced them, hence the stock market is still up. Business are still making money, but using less people to do so.
