Was this performed in Amsterdam? If so, why is it in English? The way he pronounces Nostradamus irritates me, but besides that it's a good a performance.

well he didn't prepare it very well, this is good up to the first chorus, all downhill from there, he may be a good comedian, but his nostrademus song is awful, btw i didn't suggest he improvised all the time it was one of his so called 'fans'
this was mildly funny from the start to the end of the first chorus, the came the second verse: 'his name was nostrademus he sometimes went to a bar and then he started making trouble' for some unknown reason here he gets a laugh, he continues: 'then the people said to nostrademus you might be good at predicting, but that doesn't mean you can go on causing trouble everywhere' he then gets an even bigger laugh! i'm sorry but how is any of what i quoted actually funny? it doesn't go anywhere!

Perhaps Teeuwen forgot the British audiences did not know him, nor did they share any other of the cultural references, context or history that Teeuwens act hinges upon, with the original Dutch audience for which the act was intended. Timing and interaction work differently for British comedy audiences than they do for Dutch audiences. Teeuwen should have rewritten the act or created something new instead of thinking he'd get away with a mere (and poor) translation.
Rufus Hound introduced him too quickly, so when he came on a lot of the crowd were leaving for Foals or something. So he lost the crowd's confidence right from the start.
I thought it was good, I certianly 'got' what he was doing, like Andy Kaufman in a way. He didn't deserve the booing, people were just restless waiting for Omid Jalili maybe
I cant speak for the rest of his set (since I obviously didnt see it). But if he performed this song the way he performed it here then I wonder why people were heckling him.

I too was at Latitude and I honestly thought he was being bad on purpose for the majority of his set... but there was no final punch line or anything. It was truly awful.
It was silly to put him on so late in the festival as it certainly left a bad taste in my mouth. The rest of the comedy was generally of a brilliant standard though.

Ik zei SOMEWHAT english, wat ik daarvoor ook heb onderbouwt door te zeggen dat t absurde een typische eigenschap is van engelse humor (feit). De nederlanders zijn daar niet mee gekomen.
Nou vind ik over het algemeen NLse cabaratiers een stuk beter dan engelse, (engelse cabaratiers bestaan eik niet, alleen comedians), maar je van kunt sommige elementen uit hans' werk niet ontkennen dat ze veel met britse gemeen hebben.
Ik vind die understatement humor van de Britten wel tof. Iemand die D-Day overleeft en dan, in een interview zegt: "Ja, het was wel een beetje onaangenaam." :D
I wouldn't call him a dadaist, as this isn't much of a rejection of the popular conception of art; absurd humour is pretty much the trend nowadays, and even more so in the UK, with shows like the mighty boosh. It also isn't very rude and it certainly does not mock the Great War. Dadaism on a whole isn't really practiced by today's artists anymore, it sort of branched off or at least influenced other genres.
What I would call him is a great Dutch comedian with a somewhat English sense of humour.

Yeh, I was there, it was so painful to watch. And the crowd started shouting "YOU'RE SHITE" instead of "he looked alright".
He got booed of the stage in the end because he was so awful. I doubt he could hack it as a children's entertainer.

Hans Teeuwen's humor is typisch Hans Teeuwen en niets anders, en ik denk dat dat duidelijk genoeg is.
Mij als Belg hoor je toch ook niet zeggen: nou ja, dat is wel een beetje belgische humor dat die Nederlander heeft, ja. ?

Ik zei SOMEWHAT english, wat ik daarvoor ook heb onderbouwt door te zeggen dat t absurde een typische eigenschap is van engelse humor (feit). De nederlanders zijn daar niet mee gekomen.
Nou vind ik over het algemeen NLse cabaratiers een stuk beter dan engelse, (engelse cabaratiers bestaan eik niet, alleen comedians), maar je van kunt sommige elementen uit hans' werk niet ontkennen dat ze veel met britse gemeen hebben.

Ik vind die understatement humor van de Britten wel tof. Iemand die D-Day overleeft en dan, in een interview zegt: "Ja, het was wel een beetje onaangenaam." :D

I wouldn't call him a dadaist, as this isn't much of a rejection of the popular conception of art; absurd humour is pretty much the trend nowadays, and even more so in the UK, with shows like the mighty boosh. It also isn't very rude and it certainly does not mock the Great War. Dadaism on a whole isn't really practiced by today's artists anymore, it sort of branched off or at least influenced other genres.
What I would call him is a great Dutch comedian with a somewhat English sense of humour.

ik vint deze ook best wel lagge gewoon omdat hij hierbij een ander ritme en een normale stem heeft bij de coupletten maar NL vind ik het einde veel beter maar ag
