@tubelincoln It is a dialect of Chinese, but linguistically is a different language. It is mutually unintelligible to a mandarin speak and many other dialects. Overall there are 52 different dialects. Most unintelligible to each other.

wah! you are very very close to sound like a native speaker of cantonese - I mean like just refine the tones a little more then you're there - overall it takes rise to get that good, knowing that cantonese is a difficult language to learn - you spoke brilliantly!
you are really smart.. how long you spend to learn how to speak Cantonese? and have you ever gone to HongKong or Guangdong to better yourself? or are you self taught? I have been workin @ it for about 7 months, and I feel I have made very little progress.. how long you been studying for?
Pretty good, though I feel like some of his tones sounded like a tinge of Mandarin-accent tones. Especially toward the end, but hey it's like that with me too (I grew up speaking Cantonese, but learned Mandarin in college). He is amazingg! :D
Holy moly sir! You said that you speak 10?! Wow! I applaud you! And what exactly are these languages? Is English included in the 10 that you speak? I'm only fluent on 3 so far. But unfortunately they are all my native language and I learned very little to be fluent at them. English, Spanish and Tagalog. And a little bit of Chavacano; a Spanish creole language from Zamboanga, Philippines. I can understand it coz I can speak Spanish so. ¿Pero tú sabes hablar español? Marunong po kayo ng Tagalog?
Good job Steve, some people just have what it takes to learn foreign languages.

It can be a language. It developed earlier than Mandarin. Cantonese was an ancient Chinese language.
