I think the guy speaking about his problems, has a lot to learn. I think with LOVE in your heart, if you "think and BELIEVE" you can do anything, you can do it. I think this selfish guy is being "forced" to learn new things by God. Rosanne had TR on regularly and agreed put him on the spot on this occasion,that's my point, she wasn't as much after change,more help,but I guess she figured, I have this guy on my show regularly,giving him exposure, listened to his ravings, lets see what he can actually do with it?He failed,It was pathetic.remembering that this is supposed to be TR's strength,stand up at seminars and coach people with problems?

No Rosanne was asking TR to put his stuff into practice and he failed At the time I saw this interview I had no idea who TR was but just remember how embarrassingly weak his attempt was to help Rosanne. After listening to him on previous regular apppearances and probably paying him a squillion she gave him a chance to put his words into practice .
Anyway you obviously believe the guy has merit as strongly as I believe he's a shonk !!!!

Anyone remember TR on the Rosanne talk show ? She had him on as a guest and at the time Rosanne was going through a ruff patch marriage / emotional trauma, she surprised TR and asked him to apply his technique (s) to pull her out of her depressed state his attempt was so pathetic she cut him off, went to an add break and walked off the set leaving Robbins sitting alone litereally red faced !!!
Now that's an act. Walking off on her own show when a guy was sincerely trying to help her? Give me a break. Its her own show. She wanted the ratings. If she was genuine, she would have been polite and just sat through it and told him, it wasn't working for her.

If you go to a seminar you are going there because you want change and you will do what it takes and listen because they is why you are there, not to waste your time but do something about, whereas just merely being a guest on a TV when Rosanne's intent was to have him as a guest and not to WANT change, only demand it in front of an audience.
Lonewriter7, Tony Robbins is NOT just a "motivational speaker". He is a genius when it comes to human psychology and he did exactly what was needed to save this guy's life.
lonewriter7, he was in fact very inspiring. Tony called a spade a spade - the guy WAS being selfish. You need to see the whole story b4 making judgements about one small snippet. Tony was taking a strong and dominant position. It's not always best to take a softly softly approach and this was a clear example of when a dominant approach was called for. If you get a chance, watch the whole thing, you will be amazed! :)

For a motivational speaker, Robbins was not very motivating. You don't tell a suicidal guy that he will not let him be selfish. Instead, Robbins should have said that he didn't think he wanted to kill himself; and that he was at the seminar to find a solution. So, with his help and that of the audience, they would help him out of that situation. Or something to that effect, But you don't start calling a suicidal person selfish.
People have to want to change - if he viewed suicide as altruistic, then he wouldn't want to change. Calling him selfish, I suspect, would be a way to change his paradigm.
I'm sure the guy would much rather have spoke with you but with your busy schedule.... I WAS THERE at this seminar in 2004, San Jose. Where were you? Oh that's right, YOU weren't there.

The market was up yesterday, but it is going to continue to collapse. I saw this coming and I sold all my stock in September just as the market was starting to fail.
If anyone is still invested in the market, I strongly advise you to "get the hell out", because it is going to get worse. Much worse!
The market may be down by half it's previous value, but it is going to go down to about a tenth of what it once was before it stabilizes.

It's interesting. Watching Robbins I saw an interesting parallel between what he does and faith healing.
To tell you the truth, I've listened to Tony's audio programs for years. A lot of what he says DOES motivate me & get me pumped up, but as far as transformation...he's been one of many self-help gurus who have helped me on my path, but ultimately I've had to figure out myself on my own.
It's hard for me to understand why so many people (such as yourself) are on autopilot with guys like Robbins. You say BULLSHIT immediately, and it's usually with anger and defensiveness (or arrogance). He's taught me some amazing things, like the power of DECISIONS. He goes into detail about the QUALITY of our decisions. It's BS to someone who pumps gas for $8 an hour and says "this is all there is." (I'm NOT saying this about you, just making a point.) see pt. 2
Part 2 -- I think it's wise for people not to "follow the guru." That's how you end up committing suicide with a Halle-Bopp group. I take things that make sense and move on. Tony Robbins often makes a lot of sense.

They seem to fall into two categories: Those that believe in things that they know almost nothing about because that is the nature of the human existence, and those that are jaded, cynical, paranoid, and probably in need of serious psychiatric assistance.

How does someone who has lost everything pay for a very expensive session at "Master University". It isn't free.
On another note, how has this person's life changed over the long-term. This guy might have committed suicide six months after, once the weight of no money has reasserted itself. Hence, we don't know if the Master University session is really successful.

I just came back from one of his conferences today. Just last night, I had been thinking about giving up on life, but within 90 minutes, anthony robbins changed my entire life. Now I have the will to live more than ever, and I'm ready and fired up!

No, alot of people go,and pay to go,thinking they're going to get miraculous help.
Rosanne had TR on regularly and agreed put him on the spot on this occasion,that's my point, she wasn't as much after change,more help,but I guess she figured, I have this guy on my show regularly,giving him exposure, listened to his ravings, lets see what he can actually do with it?He failed,It was pathetic.remembering that this is supposed to be TR's strength,stand up at seminars and coach people with problems?

Yer right , don't reckon what he's doing that at all.
I'm not saying this guy isn't in genuine need of help but just reckon Robbins plants him to come along and prepares the whole little act to miraculously help this guy in front of an audience thus boosting his reputation, what happens if this guy didn't stand up , TR must have prepared a program for this seminar ,other people , the audience are forced to watch him help one guy ?

No Rosanne was asking TR to put his stuff into practice and he failed At the time I saw this interview I had no idea who TR was but just remember how embarrassingly weak his attempt was to help Rosanne. After listening to him on previous regular apppearances and probably paying him a squillion she gave him a chance to put his words into practice .
Anyway you obviously believe the guy has merit as strongly as I believe he's a shonk !!!!

That guy was a plant, you can see Robbins checking the autocue during the guys opening statement .
Anyone remember TR on the Rosanne talk show ? She had him on as a guest and at the time Rosanne was going through a ruff patch marriage / emotional trauma, she surprised TR and asked him to apply his technique (s) to pull her out of her depressed state his attempt was so pathetic she cut him off, went to an add break and walked off the set leaving Robbins sitting alone litereally red faced !!!

Now that's an act. Walking off on her own show when a guy was sincerely trying to help her? Give me a break. Its her own show. She wanted the ratings. If she was genuine, she would have been polite and just sat through it and told him, it wasn't working for her.

@bottomfeedar: So you are 100% positive without a doubt that Robbins was looking at an autocue? And a woman like Rosanne? If you go to a seminar you are going there because you want change and you will do what it takes and listen because they is why you are there, not to waste your time but do something about, whereas just merely being a guest on a TV when Rosanne's intent was to have him as a guest and not to WANT change, only demand it in front of an audience.

Lonewriter7, Tony Robbins is NOT just a "motivational speaker". He is a genius when it comes to human psychology and he did exactly what was needed to save this guy's life.

lonewriter7, he was in fact very inspiring. Tony called a spade a spade - the guy WAS being selfish. You need to see the whole story b4 making judgements about one small snippet. Tony was taking a strong and dominant position. It's not always best to take a softly softly approach and this was a clear example of when a dominant approach was called for. If you get a chance, watch the whole thing, you will be amazed! :)

For a motivational speaker, Robbins was not very motivating. You don't tell a suicidal guy that he will not let him be selfish. Instead, Robbins should have said that he didn't think he wanted to kill himself; and that he was at the seminar to find a solution. So, with his help and that of the audience, they would help him out of that situation. Or something to that effect, But you don't start calling a suicidal person selfish.

People have to want to change - if he viewed suicide as altruistic, then he wouldn't want to change. Calling him selfish, I suspect, would be a way to change his paradigm.

The market was up yesterday, but it is going to continue to collapse. I saw this coming and I sold all my stock in September just as the market was starting to fail.
If anyone is still invested in the market, I strongly advise you to "get the hell out", because it is going to get worse. Much worse!
The market may be down by half it's previous value, but it is going to go down to about a tenth of what it once was before it stabilizes.
The unemployment spiral is going to make it so!

You know im not going to be insensitive to how this guy feels because I & im sure everyone knows what it's like to be going thru things at a point that makes us question our purpose in being here but you know man, I feel like this there is a whole lot of other people whose going thru twice as much sh** than then me, you & him combined so when you put those things into perspective it somehow gives you some form of gratitude you know?

It's interesting. Watching Robbins I saw an interesting parallel between what he does and faith healing.
To tell you the truth, I've listened to Tony's audio programs for years. A lot of what he says DOES motivate me & get me pumped up, but as far as transformation...he's been one of many self-help gurus who have helped me on my path, but ultimately I've had to figure out myself on my own.

It's hard for me to understand why so many people (such as yourself) are on autopilot with guys like Robbins. You say BULLSHIT immediately, and it's usually with anger and defensiveness (or arrogance). He's taught me some amazing things, like the power of DECISIONS. He goes into detail about the QUALITY of our decisions. It's BS to someone who pumps gas for $8 an hour and says "this is all there is." Part 2 -- I think it's wise for people not to "follow the guru." That's how you end up committing suicide with a Halle-Bopp group. I take things that make sense and move on. Tony Robbins often makes a lot of sense.

You should go visit some of the "Bogosity" videos put out by shanedk. His friend UncleFeedle has some too. I used to tirelessly express my points of view to them.
I grew up Protestant, but I now simply consider myself spiritual. I've looked within & worked on myself for years. The one conclusion I can draw is that people hold too tightly to what they read in the bible and other religious texts.
It's pretty arrogant to think that Christians go to heaven, everybody else rots in hell.

Dont have to attend a seminar to form my own judgment about him. All I can tell you is that I believe that you have some religious misconceived ideas about the guy. Just because he doesnt have the same beliefs or behaviours than you or those of your religion, thats enough to say that the guy is Satanic???? Yes, people are gullible.
They seem to fall into two categories: Those that believe in things that they know almost nothing about because that is the nature of the human existence, and those that are jaded, cynical, paranoid, and probably in need of serious psychiatric assistance.
I am not saying that Mr. Robins isn't completely full of shit. I just hate people who push paranoia without cause. Being jaded does not make you less of an idiot, it just makes you less productive.

I've gone to see this guy talk, he really is good. I was working at a place that I thought I liked and noticed it had nothing to do with my goals. This dude isn't an actor, I honestly beleived that Tony changed his mind

How does someone who has lost everything pay for a very expensive session at "Master University". It isn't free.
On another note, how has this person's life changed over the long-term. This guy might have committed suicide six months after, once the weight of no money has reasserted itself. Hence, we don't know if the Master University session is really successful.

There's just one problem. The man isn't really going to commit suicide. So Tony doesn't have much work to do in stopping him.
The man can't get the benefits since he's just admitted on camera the suicide intent, so the insurance company won't pay out.
Also, declaring his intent to the audience and Tony clearly shows he doesn't want to commit suicide, and wants to work with Tony to fix his problems.
