Dude, that run starting at 1:00 is absolutely one of the filthiest licks I've ever heard!!! How do you get your tapping so immaculate??? I mean, there is zero string noise! I don't know how you do it. Even if I sat on the neck and ass-muted it, there'd still be string noise. Amazing!
I'm not ripping your other vids, you're an awsome player with great technique, but this for me, is the most tasteful thing i've heard you play. Great stuff.
When improvising like this, do you think scale wise and what chords you are playing over, or do you just hear whatr sounds right and know your guitar so that you know what the note will sound like before you play it?
What an amazing talent!!!! Probably the most fantastic G & L ever made; humbuckers, coil tap, ebony fretboard, graph tech nut, etc. This guy could make a 2 x 4 sound just as good that's how good he is, well done.
World class playing man. Not too many people can play both metal and jazz fusion and excell at both. YOu are very talented and dedicated musican. No one can take that away from u. Wish u success.
This is one of the best solo's i've ever heard i've been listening to it non stop for a week. Best of luck to you though I doubt you need it with those skills.
This is my favorite video from you. All your metal stuff is incredible of course, but I really dig the musicality of this. Glad to know you've explored other styles of music outside of metal. Keep on rockin', it's inspiring.
Thanks man. It's definitely the style of lead playing I spend most of my time working on nowadays. Telling a story, keeping it interesting while trying to maintain some technical-oriented licks.
@ChrisFeener What you guys just said is pretty much what i was gonna say, i personally think this is one of your coolest videos as far as demonstration style and the most amazing part is its improv!!You progress through your vids into a spot on fuckin beast on the guitar, and i def know talent, i wish i could play as good as you and tell the story and put the pieces together so fluently and without flaw..im tellin every1 bout u, you are absolutely gonna make it man, you got what it takes.PERIOD
Yeah man, their SUPER versatile haha. Atleast that's how I find mine to be.. most people dub it a "metal-amp" however. It's worth trying one out for yourself.
Hey Chris! This is JazzTerminator from the JP forum. I agree with the guy that Paul Warren is a total douche, but, you on the other hand, are totally growing as a musician and this is proof. Great work, dude. I remember when you first started posting your improvisations; you've come a long way with it. Some advice: more themes/ melodies. Great, great stuff, though. Five stars man. Hey I know you, your that fag that post over at the nerdy JP forum...Here is a bit of advice, posting clips on the JP forum to get the gay boys over there to drool on your nuts is not appealing to the chicks. Although, you may swing that way. I am sure Paul Warren does. He is an epic douche.
Hey, Chris. This is Alex Meadus' cousin, Duane. Been listening to you a lot lately, thought I'd leave a comment for once. xP Loving the playing, mate. Keep up the good work and all that.
What are you doing wrong?!! Nothing dude! That was friggin awesome! Nice work - it really sounded like you were playing over the harmony. The only thing I would suggest is to try implying a C7alt kind of sound in bar 4 of the progression to lead into the Fm7. Dude this is seriously good!
I'm really only getting into the whole "playing for the harmony" business now, it really makes things sound so much more colorful, and things fit together so much nicer verses just wanking mindless in-key patterns over the whole thing.
i would like to know what are u talking about, i mean, i know what a C7alt is, but how do you make that "leading-to-another-chord" thing, and what about "playing for the harmony"? i supposed that u(i refer to any of us) always do that when u play over a chord progression dont u?
the phrasing sounds really fluid and fresh, so do your songs (=
I guess it's a combination of both. Obvsiouly I come back to some of my "comfortable" licks from time to time but, the main trick is learning ways to piece your ideas together. I find arpeggios awesome for that.
you jerk! i see what you're doing... slowly nudging the ibanez out of the picture.. keeping it in the background to make it ok. but its not ok, is it? IS IT!?
And will continue to grow it until it reaches my knees!

Well in the case of C7alt you would play C Super Locrian and just target a chord tone of Fm7 and then you're into F Dorian.
