  • its not howling?

  • i love rooing my whippets do the same when they're hungry or just being bossy heheh

  • I had never heard my retired racer, Ted, make any noise even close to a roo until I typed in a search and found this video. Now he nudges my phone with his needle-nose and 'demands' that I pull this clip up so he can roo along with his newfound friends! Thank you SO much for posting this awesome clip of these gorgeous dogs in their element!!

  • Have a Rooooooooooooo it's gooood for youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu :D

  • Awesome video! My retired racer woke from a dead sleep, ears wayyyy up, rooing his happy head off and we had never heard him do it before I punched up this video....well done...we are in stitches over this!!!!!

  • Both of these dogs are so gorgeous. For those who are complaining about the one on the right being too thin, stop blaming the owner. Greyhounds are naturally thin, so it does not take much for them to appear underweight. Almost all greys are rescued from racing kennels, some of which starve the dogs to a great degree... It's tragic, and that's one reason WHY so many people adopt them. For many, they may never regain the weight because their body is used to it, or it may take a lot of time.

  • @laughsleepplay i am WITH you! i see you are a greyhound expert just like me!

  • u need to feed the brown one more i can see his bones

  • @TheVk1998 you can see most greyhounds bones

  • Play this for your greyhounds and they will roo!!

  • Ok now I'm confused! I've been thinking about getting a greyhound (an Italian greyhound to be precise). In the research I've done, everyone seems to say they're really quiet dogs and hardly ever make a sound. & I'm now seeing a lot of videos on here of greyhounds doing this 'rooing' thing. Can anyone with a greyhound shed any light on this for me? I really don't want a noisy dog. My last dog, much as I loved him, did whine & bark a lot & it wasn't fun. Thanks in advance for any responses : )

  • @Cherrywoo77 Hi Cherry -- I've had Italian Greyhounds, Whippets, and Greyhounds and this I can tell you - Italian greyhounds bark and bark often. Whippets bark also. Greyhounds do not bark ( Maybe 1 or two times a year ) and seldom do they 'roo". In fact, It was easier to get the IG and Whippet to roo. Whippets, IG's, and Greyhounds all sleep 20+ hours a day. Whippets and IG's love to play and run and will do so every day. Greyhounds tend not to run much at all and actually need less room.

  • @hescalau Really? damn.. lol. Well I've completely got my heart set on an IG now I think, so hopefully I can train him not to bark if done early enough (she says with some trepidation.. haha). What kind of times did you find your IG's barked? Like, was it during play or when they were excited or when they heard a noise outside or was it just all the time? (hope not!) I'm not having much luck finding one thus far. I'm in Scotland and there are no breeders of IG's or adoption centre's here :(

  • @Cherrywoo77 I have owned two IGs. The first one barked like a maniac. The second rarely barked at all- only at the cat once or twice a year. (He never once growled in his 12 years on Earth.) Each dog's inclination to bark/not bark was evident in our first encounters with them. I think it depends on their 'alpha-ness'. Now, we have a big greyhound. He barks. He roos like the dogs in this video. And he eats like a horse- about 3X more than the IGs. I hope you find a dog. Good luck!

  • @JDeGroom Thankyou! And thanks for the advice : )

  • @Cherrywoo77 Dont be confused. i am a greyhound lover / greyhound expert! my aunt owns one and i have never seen him roo. he barks a couple of times but barley! oh yeah greyhounds ONLY roo when they are happy or excited or with another greyhound! i think you will be just fine! go out there and buy yourself a greyhound! by the way they are excellent with children. good luck!

  • @GreyhoundLover12 Hi, thanks very much for your comment. I am still looking for an Italian greyhound in my area - alas no luck so far : (

  • @Cherrywoo77 Whether it barks or not depends on the individual dog. You have to see the dog in person. You'll likely be able to tell how vocal it will be.

  • Hehe my greyhound always roos back with it. I'll post a vid.

  • My greyhound, maddy, started to roo and bark. Is there a dog language....

  • The one on the right looks very thin. Is it a very old dog?

  • Their better than Justin Bieber.

  • Hee hee, One of my greys has a beautiful voice too! He sounds like he's singin' the blues ^_^

  • i can put to rest the convo as i run a kennels what you need to do is find the weigh the kennel used to keep them at then try and keep them to that as the tracks know thats the right weight for the dog so it runs right this also keeps its heath right unless it gets a bug but to keep them at the right weight you need to test with different food as in the kennels they have a mix of meat and veg with other things to keep the coats looking nice

  • Those hounds look in fine shape, they are not underfed in any way!!!

I have 3 Greys so I guess I should have some idea !

  • lol, those fucking idiots are gorgeous! my two greys don't make a peep at all! until my male grey sees a maltese at the park.. hahah

  • @BengalsfanL Well, I have seen a bunch of greyhounds and NONE of them were as skinny as yours. This stupid conversation isn't going anyway. So maybe your greyhounds are just unique that way.

  • @Omega22AlphaZ i have a grey and she is thin, but the Brindle in this video does look a little thin, however.. all greys are thin.. like you said it just may be the dog

  • @Budafinga Alright. I've never owned a greyhound so really I wouldn't know but I have seen lots of them. yeah you never know really. I had a black lab which was always thin and never gained a pound so that might be the case with your dogs. I don't know.

  • @BengalsfanL They can still run fast if they have more body weight. You are just starving them. I have seen greyhounds race and they have more weight on. So your the idiot, by not feeding your dogs enough.

  • my greyhound never roos, nor does he bark, all he does is growl at other dogs and run away from loud noises. I LOVE MY DOG! =D hes so cute ^_^

  • Can someone tell me where to buy a greyhound puppy please?

  • You do not want a greyhound puppy...here's a description: Nuclear-powered, Tazmanian devils on speed! They are cute though :)

  • Very cute.Lovely dogs.

  • @thekoistudios

  • Lol. Reminds me of my dog singing. I miss her.

  • I might be getting a rescue greyhound in may sometime. I cant wait!

  • man they are fucking rooing cause their fucking hungry......give them some food god-damn it

  • WAAAAY better than Rebecca Black

  • They're terrific!!! My greyhound Milagritos, who was rescued from cruelty and abuse, also rooes with them! Thank you very very much for this delicious video!

  • This is the only thing that will make my dog roo. It's so funny! I love it!

  • music to a greyhound lover's ears :)

  • my greyhound stood up and perked her ears up

  • so dose mine

  • the yelloweish one sounds like my dog and looks just like my dog.oh and ur dogs are so cute

  • My greyhound is veeeeery quiet, i've only heard her bark 5 times... and i've had her for 5 years(since she was a puppy):P I have no idea why she acts that way xD any ideas?

  • @TillIsLove I've heard that only 1 in 10 greyhounds find their bark, however, i think mines that 1 :L

  • Heehee! Love 'em! :-)

  • Interpretation: "We are overwhelmed by our good fortune and happy to be alive."

  • brilliant love you both x

  • adorable!!!

  • They resemble our first two hounds, now gone.:-( Thanks for a new way to remember them.

  • @kev0131 Wow you are a jerk. Obviously you do not live with greyThounds and you don't know what you are missing. These dogs are beautiful and they sing very pretty. You need to keep you negative comments to yourself. You probably are one of those people who has a little puny dog that our greyhounds would step on.

  • My grey loves to roo along with this! Thanks for uploading!

  • My greyhound was so confused when I played this! She got right up with her ears up trying to figure out where the other greyhounds were.

  • my doggie does dat when we leave XD

  • haha nice one

  • I LOVE these dogs!

  • Correct: No two are alike. As in any wolf or dog pack. (DNA shows wolves and dogs are the same species completely by the way) this great Greyhound music is why my sled dogs were always 1/2 Greyhound. Great speed, great music.

  • My 2 greyhounds went wild wondering where it was!

  • LOL love it! One of my Greyhounds joined in with the rooing, while the other 3 just looked at him as if he had gone crazy!

  • my greyhound Lily started doing this when I put the video on...weird.

  • your cat is nice

  • You should try to hear this 24 hours a day my Gracye puts me CRAZY!!! Still love her, dunno why

  • Great video, our 2 greyhounds roo along with it!

  • My greyhound never roos. If he hears another roo, he just whines. :P

  • haha my one greyhound roo's its funny and the other one will follow suit.

  • lol hahaha i was crying it so funny

  • What beautiful dogs. I would rather hear them sing than have to listen to most people.
