do you have a problem with helping people half way around the world? you don't need to see something personally if you want to help. you're the perfect example of what everyone's saying about our generation.
However, all the kids at my school could just get in a car and drive half an hour to Atlanta and see thousands of homeless people stuck not knowing where their next meal is going to come from. Or they could take a trip to one of the numerous battered women's shelters and actually help someone in their area. No, all these kids are going to walk through the city with their iPods in and have a grand ole' time and make a "difference".
Yea but you have to realize, the American government CAN afford to help out the homeless in America. We spend trillions of dollars looking for invisible weapons in iraq yet our country's own citizens cant find a place to sleep or a meal to eat. These people in Uganda on the other hand, are completely helpless. they did NOT chose to be born there.

All these attention craving kids come to school with Xs on their shirt so they can help some kids half way around the world in another country that they will never see.

my school in brazil got involved on this invisible children program and we had a sleep over at school and we had to pay to go and all the money went to those kids! it was really cool

i like this vid. ((makes me feel very warm & fuzzy)) :D @ my school, we actually have an Invisible Children's club & i'm in it. right now, everyone in this club is working on ways to help the children in Uganda!! :D ((yay!!!)) i'm going to make MANY t-shirts & have MANY bake sales to try to get as much $ as i can to donate! :D i really think that if you have a club like this @ your school, you should SERIOUSLY join!! if not, you should try doing something to help! HELP PLEASE! :D

However, all the kids at my school could just get in a car and drive half an hour to Atlanta and see thousands of homeless people stuck not knowing where their next meal is going to come from. Or they could take a trip to one of the numerous battered women's shelters and actually help someone in their area. No, all these kids are going to walk through the city with their iPods in and have a grand ole' time and make a "difference".

Yea but you have to realize, the American government CAN afford to help out the homeless in America. We spend trillions of dollars looking for invisible weapons in iraq yet our country's own citizens cant find a place to sleep or a meal to eat. These people in Uganda on the other hand, are completely helpless. they did NOT chose to be born there.

Okay, if the world had no problems at all except for what is going on in Uganda then I would be fine with Invisible Children- except thats not the case. All these attention craving kids come to school with Xs on their shirt so they can help some kids half way around the world in another country that they will never see.

Do you say this to people who are helping the poor and homeless in THIS country? Do you say "Well, there are other people in other countries who are poor, not just people in the US."? The people who started Invisible Children have never said and do NOT believe that Uganda is the only country that has problems. However, it is their focus and that isn't a bad thing. So, why would you be so against it? I think it's impossible for someone to be able to focus on EVERY SINGLE PROBLEM in the world.

I just saw this movie 3 days aog, and i wish i had seen it earlier. this will sound cheesy but it is heartwarming to see people rally for a good cause. Also i realize that my personal problems are nothing compared to what children the age of my younger siblings have to go thru a daily basis.
