he does it that way cause he is a true old school strength beast and loves strength, he is stronger than most OLWLs ever, I know him since 1987, so far that`s the highest load frontsquatted totally raw that can be seen. If not, please wheer are the videos of the other monsters doing it? he could do 700 lbs + the way he comes up here with 660

can you give me a reason for a powerlifter TO frontsquat atg if they're WPO. if they're WPO, they don't have to squat to depth. in fact, only the bottom of their hamstring needs to break the knee joint. also, the vast majority of WPO lifters use double ply, meaning they should focus the majority of their training on lockout strength. fronting squatting ATG is a great exercise, but inferior to many other exercises for training lockout.
A full stretch of the muscle trains the muscle very good. Front squat is a great exericise to get stronger especially in your quads and core strenght. And I can't see why that shouldn't be positive, even for a WPO lifter. Quads is also very important in the first part of a deadlift.
This is the first video I've seen of a powerlifter doing a full front squat. I don't know how much this guy weighs, but a FS of 300k is around the max strength for 85k weightlifters
