  • where is the instrumental version of this?

  • OMG CHILDHOOD MEMORIES RUSHING BACK!! I think they just bit my ass...HARD.

  • Is it me or does anyone prefer this opening to the second one? I like that it sounds more Guaraldi-like, and I like the AUUUGH montage.

  • Like if you want WHV to FINALLY release a Peanuts 1980s Collection and season sets of the CB&SS!

  • i thought the charlie brown and snoopy show was made in 2011

  • When Charlie Brown and Linus scream it sounds like they are saying "on". Come on light switch, turn ONNNN!

  • good times, great kiddie memories

  • i love the one where Lucy and Snoopy arm wrestle and Shroeder pulls the piana

    away from Lucy

  • Oh god the scream is just priceless.

  • I just love hearing Charlie Brown and Linus scream!

  • Do I hear a sour note at the end?

  • This theme song along with Korobeiniki made classic 80s theme songs. Pity this never play in the UK any more. I used to have great fun watching it when I was a kid, usually played on Cartoon Network & Boomerang...

  • There should be a law that every single Peanuts special be contractually obligated to feature at least one Peter Robbins/Charlie Brown scream! :D "Au-Au-Aaaaughh!!" WHUMP!

  • 1 person failed at kicking a football,

  • aww I love the part where Charlie Brown is talking to Lucy and he blushes! SO CUTE!

  • 1 persons is immune to nostalgia.

  • Sweet sweet memories. I remember this on Nickelodeon. =]

  • 0:26 Yiee. Classic Snoopy scream

  • You gotta love Peter Robbins' iconic Charlie Brown scream...

  • i found one of the videos--vol 1.

  • 0:30 to 0:43 - Play that harmonica!

  • That noise Lucy starts making when she starts losing at arm wrestling still tickles me to this day.

  • the piano playing is sick

  • The Peanuts is the Best Cartoon Series Ever

Kids can Laugh about it and Learn for their Live

My Favorites are Charlie himself, Linus and Petty

Snoopy and Linus Battles for his Towel are Classics

  • what is the name off that song?

  • My favourite show ever when I was a kid, and if they bring it abck I suspect it would be my favouurite

  • 00:14 BEST SCREAM EVER!

  • @ggxxslash 00:26 = owned by kite

  • In other words...symbolically-speaking:

Charles Shulz and Bill Melendez = Charlie Brown (since CB was based on "Sparky's" own life) and Snoopy. We will miss you, but your adventures will live through the strip reruns and airings of the TV films & specials.

  • Rest in peace Charles "Sparky" M. Shulz and Bill "Snoopy & Woodstock" Melendez. Your brilliance--along with Vince Guaraldi's score--will forever be missed, but will love on in anyone who's seen the loveable loser of a blockhead and his friends.

  • Everytime i open Youtube page, this vid gets one view cuz I set this vid page as Youtube's top xD

  • this needs to be on DVD.

  • i used to watch this on nickelodeon!

  • I used to watch this every Saturday morning on CBS.

  • Freakin' classic

  • Love the harmonica bit. That along with the random recycled sound effects throughout the series itself only made up a small portion of why I loved watching this series :D.

  • The harmonica bit is my most memorable bit of this theme. Mainly why I searched for this intro in the first place.

I wanted to listen to it again.

  • I have some of the volumes containing this opening~

    The Peanuts are the greatest~

  • This original opening is THE BEST. Love it.

  • I like the 2nd version...with the lyrics........"lets have a party with Charlie Brown and Snoopy. We can go dancing with Linus and Lucy....

  • i like it more too

  • damn when times where simple, good old days. gone now

  • WOW!!! Snoopy rules!!!!

  • I always loved the part where Snoopy comes in and writes "and Snoopy Show" on the sign. It's like, "I'm not gonna be left out. I'm gonna steal the show!" LOL

  • Love this song - and the look of surprise on Lucy at 0:14 as she starts to lose!

  • I know Desiree Goyette composed this theme. But didn't her husband, Ed Bogas, arrange this version?

  • R.I.P. Bill Melendez and Charles M. Schulz! You guys were two of my inspirations on such a great series! :)

  • Why do I always love hearing Charlie Brown scream?

  • @jccw227 because Augh! is the most awesome way to scream!

  • @jccw227 i love charlies scream too

  • Love this show!

  • HEY guys you'll soon be able to see this series in ULTRA high quality soon

    10:00am The Dukes

10:30am The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show

11:00am Benji, Zax and the Alien Prince

11:30am The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Show

1:00pm The New Fat Albert Show

1:30pm The CBS Children's Film Festival

  • The original lyrics were 'augh!'?

  • That would make sense since this is an instrumental and the only voices are screaming...

  • I love the theme! Desirée Goyette did such a great job composing it.

  • I have no idea WHY in the world, when TCBASS (my acronym for the Charlie Brown & Snoopy Show) was in syndication they only showed 0:42 and on. They butchered this opening! I like the second one as well, but this is the one I grew up with.

  • I remember this on Nickeleodeon.

  • Ahhhh....when times were simple and we were not allowed to grow up...and we just enjoyed ourselves in this world

  • Ahhh... those good old days... Charlie Brown does bring back lots of memories.

  • I am a big Peanuts fan and loved watching this show! The theme to this show was AWESOME!

  • Thank you! I have been looking for this opening music for AGES! The sung version that followed was what everyone seems to remember but this is still a terrific little instrumental.
