  • back when the bible was written , it was commonly known that the earth was flat. it was the science of those days, wrong mind you.. so are you saying christians were the only ones preaching that the earth was round? even though the book you solely base your beliefs in clearly reflects the science of the time it was written?

  • Cant sit through 20 mins of this crap .

  • Big Bang: not an explosion as in a boom, but as in an expansion. Not from nothing as it per say as it did not create energy. Think of it as taking an incredibly (infintesimly) small dense ball of rubber and blowing it up into a balloon. The balloon as we know it did not exist before the expansion of the balloon, but in a way it did exist.

  • just ranting but (he said he) so that narrows it down take out all the girls/females =P

  • "I could make the claim that you're unsaved because you're being a jackass about the way you're presenting yourself" That one made me smile ^^

  • Science of the devil. I prayed this video on the internet

  • I love how the guy you're dealing with doesn't trust the scientists to determine the shape of the earth, given that they've put satellites in orbit around it.

Kudos, Jerry. I know you've gotten a lot of crap from my fellow non-believers (some of it richly deserved), so I think it's only right that you get credit for doing something good.

  • Worship science? Science isn't religion... it's a method of finding answers to problems through experimentation and analysis. The reason why scientific theories have much more credentials is because they have been proven over and over time and time again. In contrast, the bible or most other religious doctrines are a collection of myths and stories that were written up by people in a way that seemed to make sense to them.

  • Oh my lord, Jerre, whoever that guy is (who wrote the article) is plain retarded.

You've come a long way, bro. Are you still a creationist?

  • One thing to note: astronomers named the distant planets after Roman gods in keeping with the tradition started by the ancient Romans and Greeks. THEY were the ones to notice the planets (or "wanderers"), and thought they actually WERE their gods. They could only see as far as Jupiter (I think). Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, and now down-graded Pluto were discovered by modern astronomers with telescopes. Naming them as such is a way to pay homage to the original star-gazers.

  • @bu1ckgnx I appreciate your input.

  • Do u believe that a ''serpent'' can actually talk like u?

  • lol

  • I was going to thumbs up but then you mentioned Justin Bieber. No, I'm kidding dude. Good video :)

  • Your Facebook friend is a deluded moron. You are just deluded.

  • @holdontoyourwig You are a repeat-offender borderline troll that I'm considering blocking.

  • @NightVisionPhantom The Koran states that Mohammad flew to heaven on a winged horse. Do you believe this story to be true or false. Please explain your reasons why you believe or disbelieve this story.

  • You must have missed my question. I would be grateful if you would answer. Cheers.

  • @holdontoyourwig Muhammad in his hadiths states that he was seeing hallucinations when it came to witnessing these types of events. It was more of a flying donkey-horse with a human face, actually. I am sure that he was under enough demonic influence to where he either did, or he thought he did. Whether he actually did, I don't know. I would say probably not, though.

  • @NightVisionPhantom Thank you for answering. Why did you fail to point out that there is no such thing as flying horses? Some Christians claim that Islam is evil. Some say that Islam teaches violence. Not one Christian i have EVER spoken to has dismissed the story based on the fact that horses dont fly.

Why do you think that is the case ?

  • @holdontoyourwig I could say that horses don't fly but then you'd say snakes don't talk. My belief is that if God is all-able to create an entire universe and all that's in it, a talking snake is super easy. He's created talking birds, after all. These talking snakes or horses would be supernatural events by today's case. I believe in the supernatural.

  • @NightVisionPhantom Exactly. You know that horses don't fly but you are unable to say it. To admit it would be admitting that your own strange beliefs could be false. All Christians say that the story is false but cant bring themselves to say that horses don't fly. No things of that nature exist today. No real miracles occur today. Only dodgy claims that cannot be verified.

  • @holdontoyourwig By saying that I'm "unable to say it" would hint that I'm embarrassed or hesitant in giving an honest answer. That's simply... not true.

I knew your questions were intent on putting me in a "gotcha" moment. We Christians don't try to "bring" ourselves into saying things. We take it as all things are possible with God. If there was a talking snake back then, or a flying donkey in Islam, I wouldn't doubt that it was possible in all the history of mankind that God set it up.

  • @NightVisionPhantom So what is your reason for disbelieving the flying horse story.? If its true then Islam must be valid. Why would a God make it happen if Islam was a false religion ? Your disbelief in the story has no grounds. You just disbelive it because it didnt happen to Jesus.

What if i said i had a flying dog. It was given to me by Zeus. Would you say i was telling lies on the grounds that the Greek religion is false or that there is no such thing as flying dogs ?

  • @NightVisionPhantom "Muhammad in his hadiths states that he was seeing hallucinations when it came to witnessing these types of events" Uh, you're wrong here. Muhammad didn't write any of the hadiths, though he was a character in at least most of them. There is at least one hadith that said he had seizures, & seizures can lead to hallucinations, but none actually stated he was hallucinated anything, ever.

  • I also get irritated when atheists pick on the easy arguments of Christianity. Although that can be fun to see, it's avoiding the real debate, and alienates people. I'm baffled how idiots like ShockofGod get a shitload of attention, while brilliant Christians like RationalRoundtable is pretty much ignored. If anyone who reads this does not know who RationalRondtable is, go subscribe to him immediately.

  • denial of basic science is one of the reasons some people cannot abide religion. thankfully, not all religious people are as obtuse as the person whose work you were reading.

  • do i beleive in life ,some say God is every where and that you ll sit at his right if your good ,,,,but where the right of everywhere ???

  • Well, obviously the world is flat. Why, just today I was driving about 60 miles into the city and, the whole way, the road was flat. I mean, if the world was a globe, I'd be driving downhill all the way. That would be cool because I could coast for the whole trip and save on gas.

  • @1140Cecile Your sarcasm is fitting and funny.

  • happy to hear you using your noggin. i too get upset when people misrepresent my position and refuse to look at evidence objectively. we can all assume that we know the truth already and disregard outside evidence. but when we do this we lose our ability to learn new things and we are stuck with an incorrect view of the world.

  • Flat?
