  • I just found this Run Rabbit Junk song on Pandora and heard the similarities instantly. Red Tape (By Agent Provocateur, from 1997's sound track to "The Jackal") was released 5-6 years prior to Run Rabbit Junk being composed for the Stand Alonie Complex, so it lokos like Yoko Kanno ripped off Agent Provocateur. I'm not normally one to cry foul for homages and inspirations, but this is a pretty obvious sound-alike.

  • I don't know, because I haven't installed Calendra's Legacy and Thief2 anymore.

Maybe it's from the Original Game Thief.

From a german band called "Subway to Sally"

  • Where can I find the music heard in the introduction or "briefing" to the first mission (the one with the gregorian-like choir, the guitars, etc.)?

  • Thanks for the info.

Found out about that "Red Tape" song in the meantime and was still wondering about who stole it from whom.

    Now I know.

Didn't know about that first riff coming from Thief, either.

  • The song is "Red Tape" from Agent Provacateur (1997) (watch?v=4HV_daszuKw), except for the first riff which is from Thief. You should update the tags.

Yoko Kanno is known for liberally taking ideas from other artists' songs (watch?v=eOy3AuB5PtI), so the uncredited similarity in sound isn't surprising.
