  • actually.....6 endings :X

  • its tha man, dont trust him lol

  • one of the best games ive ever played.. but there was one boss i could NEVER beat... hes like god... thrumpeteer...

  • I love this game and any SMT game for that matter, thanks for the great review forestlock! Could you please tell me what game that is at 19 seconds? It looks really familiar but I can't place it...Thanks a lot.

  • There are 6 endings in total and you can use items in battle, just press right 2 times in the menu a voila.

  • the best game i ever played in my life...dont now why many people hate this game so much

  • there is actualy 3 endings to the game, the 2 cult endings and then the 3rd secret "demonic" ending.

  • smt noctourne is the best and hardest rpg ive ever played 6 endings and two difficulty levels are what makes you to play this game more than once after this i got a huge fan of the smt series although i think the persona games are far too easy. Im playing currently in hard mode and its the hell itself getting killed by random encounters is happening all the time so youve got to remember to save at each and every terminal you run into.

  • just played about 1/4 through it :/ . also should i get DDS?

  • this was like my new final fantasy 7, after playing ff7 i never found a game that keeps me hours in front of tv like it, until i found this, i dont know why but i loved it, such a dark storyline and the demon thing reminded me jade cocoon wich i loved to. i become a fan of smt games after this one !

  • @dr3zit0 SMT games are so much better then the FF series..... FF series = for mainstream players, SMT = for pro rpg plaers, ESPECILLY NOCTURNE!

  • The dungeons in this game are hard as fuck. There are times where I had a hard time finding out what to do next in order to advance the storyline. A strategy guide is an absolute must. Over all a great game for those that have at least 30 hours a week to spare.

  • @kardtable you just need a good strategy and good demons

  • smt3 and killer7 2 of the most amazing game's i had for my ps2

  • liked the video, nocturne is by far one of most beautifull games i played may better than ff games for me hope they release a new shin megami tensei game on ps3

  • You won't find a better RPG on the PS2. I have a handful of PS2 rpg's that I haven't opened yet but I still find myself wanting to go back to this game. The graphics stand up really well. The soundtrack is outstanding(OST disc included with game). The turn based gameplay is about as good as turn-based gets. Incredible depth. Hard mode is VERY challenging. If your' looking for a rpg to play until your' next ps3 game comes out or whatever...play this game. Possibly my favorite ps2 rpg/game

  • When I watch this it makes me think of SMT: Imagine online not counting the battle system. I think the shading looks nicer in this one though.

  • The graphics are easily the weak part of the game. The animations are very stiff and the environments are extremely bland.

  • Good review, however I think you went a little too easy on this game. I liked it too, but there were definitely extremely annoying problems with it. Like the constant random encounters, and instant death spells.

  • you don't get more replay value than 6 endings each around 50 hours

  • Great game, i remember it. Got me into shin megami tensei

  • @ilikesquiggly Hell yes, same here.

  • Hey wats the name of the game at 19 sec to 22

  • Dunno if you've found out since, but it's Lost Odyssey for the Xbox 360 :)

  • probably my favourite rpg or one of them

  • Good job on the review I really enjoyed it.

  • Excellent review! This game looks really good, i must get round to playing it. Just looking at it, it's somewhat reminiscent of Killer 7 (my second favourite game of all time).

  • that was some preety cool music at 4:05

  • Great review, so on a scale of 1 to 10, how hard is this game on the normal difficulty, with 10 being the hardest?

  • I know this is late but thanks for the respnse.

I would have to say on the scale of 1-10. I would have to say about a 7 but normal is a pretty good challenge indeed. ^_^

  • Cool, thanks. I just got this game a couple days ago and will start it pretty soon.

  • @forestlock What difficulty setting would you recommend to a person whos only other RPG they've beaten is Final Fantasy X.

  • @forestlock Ignore my last comment. I'll go for Normal. :P

  • @DragonQuestFanboy Its definitely a 10 on Hard difficulty!

  • where would you recommend i buy this game?

i just beat persona 4 for like the 3rd time, and i think its time to move to another rpg

  • Game stop or on Ebay.

  • Actually (refering to your comment about items)

The MC (main character) is the only one who can access items in battle, just press right on the d-pad or analog

  • and I agree that cell shaded graphics are super awesome, love them

  • SMT is epic they make the best games right now in my opinion, anything SMT has been gold so far, they are amazing

  • does this game have any story connection to previous games in the series? this is the first game I'm going to play from this series

  • Im not sure myself but I think its the 3rd game in the series but I could be wrong. Sorry I didnt respond sooner.

  • np man, you're right its the 3rd game in the main series and btw great review keep it up!

  • @forestlock Technically fourth if you count If... but I heard thats a side story so that makes Nocturne the 3rd game.

  • @bgodfather89

I think not. I think they said that some SMT games are set in different universes. BUT there might be a connection between this game and smt 2. Hijiri jyoji is said to be the reincarnation of a character from smt 2. It is his punishment for committing the ultimate Sin in SMT 2. Spoilers. Now he pays the price in nocturne forever recording the history of the universe being destroyed and reborn, unable to die.

He killed God in SMT 2.

  • @Tinhh thanks for your reply :)

  • I didn't realize Shin Megami Tensei had a similar style that spawned Pokemon! Very cool! Awesome review, keep 'em coming!

  • Nice review, the only thing is, I am not entirely sure, but I think the main character can use items during battle. I think so but I am not sure. Anyways, nicely done.

  • Yeah your 100% right. I messed up on what I was saying, but thats what I was trying to say. :)

    Thanks.

  • Oh I didnt notice sword already corrected you, my bad.

  • Thats cool.

  • You know, you're a really understanding person.

  • @Shintai123 He can use items, but not the demons.

  • @GRANDOVERLORD77

Lmao, bro, that comment is a year old.

  • @Shintai123 LOL, whats up with youtube, huh? I cant tell how old comments are like I could before. Utube is messing up!

  • @GRANDOVERLORD77

You have to move your cursor over the comment and it says how old it is in great under it, but yeah it's still stupid. :/

  • whoa really nice review, and good use of gameplay footage. small correction, though: you can only select items during battle when its the main character's turn. but i see what you mean, that can get annoying. great review, regardless

  • Yeah, I messed up. :) thats what I was trying to say, but it came wrong in the video.

    Thanks!!!
