Right! but every time I drag the program into dosbox it runs it but just in a smal window that I can't expand. Sure it works but the 3X5" window sucks ass!
C'mon...this is the year 2008! Why do we still have to know DOS to play these on modern computers. seams like someone by now would have made a program that takes all the code talk out of it. If you can play NES on a computer for gods sake why not a DOS game.
Im trying to do the same thing, but with Duke Nukem 3d, and it didnt work, after I entered on the command prompt it said "not recognized as internal or external command operable program or batch file"
just tried installing dosbox and it was a complete failure. I did everything it said I was suppose to I mounted it and then I was suppose to run the game but how am I suppose to do that if my pc cant detect it because its too old and isn't that what dosbox is suppose to do?
check out D-fend reloaded. ITs a dos box front end. Basically once you find out which exe in the game you Dled starts the game you can import it to d-fend. Its tricky but i think ive got it figured out.
I am trying to get the computer to read the cd-rom so explain how d-fend reloaded will detect the game? by the way I can run dos games on my pc without dosbox unless the game requires 640 x 480 16 bit screen res then I cant. Good news is I have star wars dark forces and my computer can run it.
If I put a flash drive into my windows 98 put the dos games into it then put it into this computer would I be able to use dosbox or your method to work it.
Would this be dangerous though because my old windows 98 computer had internet and is infected with 009guard and much more
I am having a problem, I want to run and install this program that I used to use for my windows 98 it was a windows 95-98 program that I believed use 16 bit dos command prompt but my computer can't even read the disk any suggestions?
all you have to to is make sure that you have the windows os still on your pc. (when you installed xp, make sure you can switch between themes) it works for me just fine
I read your description about that Hyper cam fullscreen thing, you just simply set DosBox into window mode in the dosbox.conf and lemmings won't go fullscreen. Tho I wouldn't use Hyper cam.
hi, i have a question.. i did all the thing u say2 but my computer doesnot ask me to Choose EGA, VGA, and when i run the game it just opens a black screen
:S do u know why.
i have windows xp
i tried this in my sisters laptop(with windows vista) and it worked!! whyyy?!!?? T_T
BAD way. It's ALWAYS better to use 'cd' to change to the directory where the program itself is located, and THEN run the setup program. Otherwise there is a very big chance it will not find the files it needs.
That doesn't matter. The only reason why this works is bcause the program asks you to locate the installation files. Most DOS installers don't do that, but rather assume they're all in the Current Directory.
How did you make this?

@menwar200 Or just realize that this video is three years old now and obviously serves no purpose. Installing dosbox is irrelevant to this video.

This is magic.
How did you do it stuff.
Make Tex Murphy "Under a killing moon" work on Vista home premium without dos box.
Or with Dos Box.
Then...only then... tell me how you do it.
GraemeBerke 3 years ago
Im not exactly sure if it's done the same way on vista. It should be similar, but this is just for the curious

AkumaADemoncus 3 years ago
The "Command Prompt" is not like the Original MS-DOS prompt that older windows had.
Windows 95's MS-DOS prompt worked like an exact DOS clone. So our command prompt will most likely not take disks. It is possible on Windows 98 though.
