  • I still pick this game up again a couple times a year, and just go on marathons with it. I've passed each of the campaigns multiple times over the years. By far one of my top favorite games ever.

  • i spent hours on this just exploring, trading, and finding wonders. the open ended aspect is the best thing about the game. i'd like to see more games that offer a game experience like this; immersive and soothing.

although once you know about the athens/istanbul art and carpet trade route it's hard to ignore.

  • Man,in this game i had my fleet compromissedof only Venetian Galeass, with no cannons, and minimal space as possible in order to carry more loot, apart from the flagship, wich had no cannons and more space for crew than for loot, alog with the best sword and armor, all you need to do is atack anyone and they should die very easily. That's was exactaly how i've git more than 6 gold bars.

  • I used to get mad into this game when I was 15

  • One of my all time faves. Always hated the way you dueled tho.

  • Clearly an underexposed game that came out for in that generation... more people should know about and play this game! It had everything. Strategy, combat, exploration.. hell, I even aced my primary school geography because of this game!! :D

  • Does anyone know how to asign sailors and equipt items? I'm findind it really hard for some reason, and I don't get it.

  • I'm from Lisbon and my name is João :D but I never tried any of the Uncharted Waters games, even though I've been a Nintendo geek for almost 20 years. If it's on VC, I must lay my hands on it and use my fellow João to reach victory!

  • hahaha noob has plate mail, galleons, and normal cannons. I bet you got dragon figureheads too

  • I can take any character at all and go from their starting ship/gold to a fleet of huge ships with 1,000+ gold ingots in an hour or less of gameplay time. I wish the game were a little more balanced in that respect, takes the fun out of it when you know how to exploit the trade system.

  • @RLore18 then the fun becomes controlling the world as a pirate with max investments. btw, is this trade route africa/japan?

  • OMG I had no idea people still played this!! My husband and I absolutely love it - we still have our game but the SNES has long since died. I dearly wish they would make a modern update for it. So many happy memories!

  • @heatherwind There is uncharted waters online wich is in closed beta right now (ending tommorow september the 5th) it will the go in open beta/public release, it's free and very good, search uncharted waters online in google it'S distributed by netmarbles.

  • nice gear, i remember, if you didn't have the right gear, the fights would take forever lol. If this was on emulator.......yeah.....save after each successful hit........reload if hitten.......i didnt....yeah, i did :( .

  • uncharted waters taught me how to be the pirate i am today

  • I've probably put more hours on this then I have on obvlivion lol.. this game is great!

  • OMG i still play this game and im also trying to learn the intro song of this game on my guitar.

  • Dude that island Looks like Trinidad dam son my home town LOL Thank you ....

  • OMFG I LOVE THIS GAME!

  • i cant find the ost to pirate battle :( i love there music

  • can anyone tell me how to save the file on the game????

  • To save, press Select when at sea or in town, and then go to the Save option.

  • Nice one, well played. Great game I was just no good at sword fighting or sea battles :(

  • ultimate armor is in Coppenhagen and the best sword is in Timbuktu and somewhere in South America on the East coast

  • Cool game , but i think the music from SEGA genesis is way better.... but its just me,still good music though

  • Otto the best !

an the best sword is the claymore.. !!

  • you can actually get cheaper sword in china and cheaper armor in the netherlands if i remmeber correctly. i loved this game... i was nuts about it!

  • This is my favorite game of all time. The music, replay value, fun in leveling, trading, and adventuring are all fun. It really pisses me off that KOEI has to suck so hard now and give us nothing but these crappy dynasty warriors 87 games. An mmorpg is out for this now but its not available in US. KOEI must hate America.

  • it looks fun =D hurray for emu :D

  • Hey, I ruv Dynasty Warriors rong time and all, at least until the sixth one sucked so hard, but I can't argue with you here. This really is one of the best games ever. I finally beat it as Ernst, and even now it blew my mind to see the full map shown! ^_^

  • @xxEdwardTeachxx I bought it, cause i was stubborn, its called Dai Koukai Jidai Online. I purchased it and tried to reverse engineer the MMO subscription. Didn't work and Gamecity is apparently really tough to reach when they only speak Japanese or Chinese.

  • @bloedblarre did you purchase a ps3? I think it was available for pc but it's been a while since i researched it. Maybe there is some emulator or something you could get to play it on there. Like you i'm not going to learn Japanese or Chinese just so i can play it. I would like to buy a ps3 just to play an english version (hint, hint, KOEI).

  • @xxEdwardTeachxx I have it for PS3, it simply doesnt work though...

  • @xxEdwardTeachxx So true

  • @xxEdwardTeachxx and europe!

  • i finished this game with that guy from england and catalina at first cuz i like to fight more than sail around the whole world.its not that hard if u have special items equipped which can be bought @2am at some ports.the hardest battle is with that pirate who follows u everywhere cuz he got good swordskills

  • I find Otto's quest from England to be fairly difficult until you get enough money to buy a Venetian Galeass

  • i realized that u dont need to listen to your king and do his tasks all the time but u can attack on your own ships.when u will have enough fame king will give u the last task and u will finish the game

  • where can i download a good rom or emulator for this?

i still like the old nes version the best!

    super game

  • i am using Gens for sega and u can find many roms in romnation net or just download a pack with all sega games from torrents like i did

  • The SNES version is now available on the Wii Virtual Console :)

  • なつかしいなぁ・・・ I remember this game over 10 years ago, I often

    Al Vesas - trade carpet-isntanbul & glass-venezia

Ernest - go around the world & talking bar girl

    Catalina - battle fast ship

    ...

  • love this game! the duels are very hard though...

  • ya the duels are hard, as u can see he has the crusaders sword (the best sword in the game)

and he still needs a lot of time beating him...

  • What impressive sound quality for a game that age. I swear the piano sounds real.

  • What a great game this was. :o

  • i loved this old one, very very good game.

  • I played this game back in the 90s. I loved it! I'm trying to find a copy now ;p Thanks for the upload.

  • hmm...nic you have the crusaders sword...found timbuktu (black market 2 am) you ca get te crusaders armor in southern italy. Love the game though, I think they should make a new one for like the ps3 or xbox 360..or both?
