Against a 3-2 zone I would definitely have a 2 guard front with whatever you're doing (also takes pressure off your point guard), attack from the corners which should be open- this 41 offense should be effective. Defensively, I would probably go with a 1-2-2 half court trap or a 1-3-1, but for sure would use a trapping defense- 8-10 year olds usually can't handle pressure, so would most likely get you some turnovers and hopefully easy fast break points. Good defense = easy offense...Good luck!
I only have 8 players on my team. Our starting 5 are all exceptional players but only 1 of them is a "big". What offense and defense would you play? They are coed ages 8-10. The best team in our league is all boys and they play a 3-2 zone defense.
It's most effective against a zone defense, especially a 1-3-1 or a 3-2 zone; however sometimes this offense works well against man to man. I'm a believer in making adjustments and trying different offenses and defenses during the game until you find what's working. Sometimes there's no logical explanation to why things work, they just do. Check out my "32" offense- I like switching to that sometimes if the "41" isn't effective- it just depends on your match-ups. Hope it helps!
