I know this isn't the most ethical way to play games, but there's a cheat for more DNA points: open the cheat console[Ctrl]+[shift]+[c] > type adddna (or addDNA) > press enter and you about 80-120 DNA points; about 5 times as much DNA as you'll have at one time in the Microbial Stage.
