Why 'except'? I would be quite pleased with this result. Dying alone > dying with people all around. Likewise, drifting through life > struggling through life, constantly fighting against the entropic decay of relationships with people you hate.
The problem is you think there's something wrong with you - there isn't.
Just because someone is Schizoid, doesn't mean they hate everyone. It makes me feel worse to think that I am keeping people that I might like at arms length just because even talking about the most inane subjects is emotionally draining.
I don't really feel depressed about any of the symptoms until I hear a psychologist make us out to be empty robots who will definitely fail in life. We are being sold short I think.

whats the motivation if your giving me money for a service ill talk to you all day but if not then i don't care to !! your trying to tell me i need something i don't need based on the premise that most other people need this interaction!! we don't if you have a common interest we can talk about that but when you bring up how cute your baby is it ends
I believe my hubby has this. At first I thought it was anti-social personality disorder, but after watching that video/those videos I found out that disorder is nothing like I thought it was!
His mother is just like this too. I have to say, it is hard to see how there would be shades of schizoid like there are shades of emotion in an autistic person, or shades of empathy in a narcissistic person. That might account for those who prefer some sex. Honestly I have never caught my hubby mastur....
I have a sense of humor. I just almost never feel comfortable enough to express it.
If and when i do, it's always dry so while others may laugh at my remark/joke, i myself would merely smirk. Laughing would be too much of an expression of emotion.
About the sexual interest... this tends to be a spot where psychologists differ in opinion. Personally, I am a male with functioning biochemical processes, so I do feel sexual urges. However, I've never had a romantic or emotional impulse that would lead me to a relationship.
I think that many skizoid are not bland, or lacking in humor or personality or sexuality, but many fit this with the detachment, coldness, isolation, fantasy thinkers, solitary and more but that does't take away from the personality, their personality just isn't seen by most than a first relative or the closest one in their life.
I'm a schizoid, but I'm not this robotic sociopath that you describe.

Wrong. I am a diagnosed Schizoid and I meet ALL of these criteria. Although I don't have humor, I manage to imitate it though, but that's about it.
