When i saw "terrible" i was thinkin abuse, addiction, homelessness, but then he explained he used to be a bad singer. Everyone used to be a bad singer, even if you're born with talent you need to train it. This is was kind of a let down, thats not an inspirational story. The best part about Michael is that like a lot of Canadians, he hilariously funny. He was fantastic during the closing ceremonies for the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver (where he's from) when he performed as a mountie.
ok, what does lady gaga have to do with Michael Buble? Its like people either need an excuse to hate or an excuse to gush. Gaga only has one song that come close to this type of music, if you don't think she has talent, then listen to her live performance of speechless.
He sings these songs all the time... Is he supposed to get emotional and cry every single time?! Some people are just plain thick if they can't understand why he's not going to wail and weep when he performs them (fakeness). He LOVES the songs he sings and the original artists, but he doesn't try to emulate them, he does it 'his way'. Get over it, he's a performer and does it brilliantly. He's got an audience more varied in age than any other at this moment in time. That speaks volumes!
Seen a couple of live concerts and ABSOLUTELY LOVE and adore the way he interacts with the audience. Fantastic artist! Hardworking, Talented and makes it appear so effortless.
great singer, fantastic voice, perfect for a young guy singing the type of songs he sings, but he just doesnt drag me into the lyrics, his job is not to sing it better than sinatra, but i cant get over the felling that he is enticed by his own voice, its like he is listening to the melody of his words far more than the felling, the meaning and the pulse. thats why he can never be better than the original artists, he doesnt cry to the sad, nor laugh to the happy songs as deeply as frank.
I got fooled into buying him doing Me & Mrs jones in concert on itunes - I wanted just ONE line of him singing ' Me-E a-And Mrs. Mrs Jones' but he let the audience do it. all the time. They might've loved that karaoke in concert but I paid for him to sing. I'm a fan almost anywhere else he lands

@shane69999 they are completely different ends of the spectrum to MB. gaga is visual and does really weird music videos. britney USED to be good. and now she's more known for going off the rails. @toxic2k7 Actually he does use auto-tune, for example if you listen to "that I'll give" at 0:40 you can hear the artefacts from pitch shifting. It has become a lot more subtle over recent years - not just the lil' wayne style frog noises :)
@jackbank307 Well I've never seen him personaly in concert so I can't comment but he uses it on his recorded vesions and I watched his UK special 'An Audience With' which he used the live version of autotune all the way through.
It's not a crime or anything. I like artists using it to create a the warping effect that sounds good on the radio when tracks or compressed and digitised anyway. It's a tool to create a unique sound but given Buble's schtick you'd think he wouldn't use it at all.

In case you are serious; there are varying levels of autotune; you can have it spike immediately to the corrected pitch, or slowly, as well as set the scale of the pitches it will slide too. It may not be as drastic as T-Pain or Beibert, but it is still being used way to heavily. This is much different in effect from having a sound engineer 'perfect' a record by tuning & adjusting pitches that are slightly out of tune.
Michael Buble has a voice that only comes around every few decades.. the last
one(s) who were as talented as him (In that particular singing style) were Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin (take your pick) He is that good. It takes ALOT to redo a Sinatra song (I personally have tried. You have to have a particular singing style).. I give him alot of credit for not only singing it but singing it very well.

The best part about Michael is that like a lot of Canadians, he hilariously funny. He was fantastic during the closing ceremonies for the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver (where he's from) when he performed as a mountie.

He sings these songs all the time... Is he supposed to get emotional and cry every single time?! Some people are just plain thick if they can't understand why he's not going to wail and weep when he performs them (fakeness). He LOVES the songs he sings and the original artists, but he doesn't try to emulate them, he does it 'his way'. Get over it, he's a performer and does it brilliantly. He's got an audience more varied in age than any other at this moment in time. That speaks volumes!

Seen a couple of live concerts and ABSOLUTELY LOVE and adore the way he interacts with the audience. Fantastic artist! Hardworking, Talented and makes it appear so effortless.

great singer, fantastic voice, perfect for a young guy singing the type of songs he sings, but he just doesnt drag me into the lyrics, his job is not to sing it better than sinatra, but i cant get over the felling that he is enticed by his own voice, its like he is listening to the melody of his words far more than the felling, the meaning and the pulse. thats why he can never be better than the original artists, he doesnt cry to the sad, nor laugh to the happy songs as deeply as frank.

I got fooled into buying him doing Me & Mrs jones in concert on itunes - I wanted just ONE line of him singing ' Me-E a-And Mrs. Mrs Jones' but he let the audience do it. all the time. They might've loved that karaoke in concert but I paid for him to sing. I'm a fan almost anywhere else he lands

I can't believe Lady Gaga was even mentioned here. They're not in the same league, they're not the same style of music, they're not similar in any way, shape, or form (though rumor has it they may be the same gender).
Bublé is old school with a modern twist. He's fantastic at what he does, which is what's important.
Also, @Fret17, that's not an audio artifact from pitch shifting, it's an audio artifact from a shitty YouTube video. You hear another shortly after, and neither are on the album.

@shane69999 they are completely different ends of the spectrum to MB. gaga is visual and does really weird music videos. britney USED to be good. and now she's more known for going off the rails. Buble's voice is one you can only hear and not see, because he don't dance, he doesn't do crazy videos and join up with the most random of people. He's more Jazz than crazy pop which is what britney and gaga are.

@toxic2k7 Actually he does use auto-tune, for example if you listen to "that I'll give" at 0:40 you can hear the artefacts from pitch shifting. It has become a lot more subtle over recent years - not just the lil' wayne style frog noises :)

@jackbank307 Well I've never seen him personaly in concert so I can't comment but he uses it on his recorded vesions and I watched his UK special 'An Audience With' which he used the live version of autotune all the way through.
It's not a crime or anything. I like artists using it to create a the warping effect that sounds good on the radio when tracks or compressed and digitised anyway. It's a tool to create a unique sound but given Buble's schtick you'd think he wouldn't use it at all.

In case you are serious; there are varying levels of autotune; you can have it spike immediately to the corrected pitch, or slowly, as well as set the scale of the pitches it will slide too. It may not be as drastic as T-Pain or Beibert, but it is still being used way to heavily. This is much different in effect from having a sound engineer 'perfect' a record by tuning & adjusting pitches that are slightly out of tune.

Michael Buble has a voice that only comes around every few decades.. the last
one(s) who were as talented as him (In that particular singing style) were Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin (take your pick) He is that good. It takes ALOT to redo a Sinatra song (I personally have tried. You have to have a particular singing style).. I give him alot of credit for not only singing it but singing it very well.
