  • You just really touched my heart. And I just got done listening to the Sandy Denny version before I found this :)

  • I was checking out Joni Mitchell and saw your version of Coyote. Loved it... Then I checked out some of your other renditions. I've loved Sandy Denny and Nick Drake for years as I see you must also. These were uploaded in '07 - are you still on youtube?

  • I've just watched you sing Joni....now Sandy...great taste! - Gonna check out your channel next.

  • That's nice...

  • That was beautiful

  • This is so beautiful - lovely cover ty

  • lovely...sing on princess!

  • Siento mucha paz en tu voz, tenes una gran talento y me encanto esta version de esta gran banda, poco reconocida aca en Argentina. Un beso y gracias por regalarnos tu voz.

  • thanks for posting i learned a lot , im a fan

  • great voice

  • nice try. very good. xxx.

  • PROUD. I bet you feel proud too, you should, Put some mackeup on, have a girly Knight. A.

  • Great sound and great touch on the strings.

  • Thanks for posting this , because of this I was able to learn this song on guitar. I have always loved Sandy Denny and you do a wonderful job on this tune, again thanks!

  • Lovely. Dreamy, reflective, introspective. One small question. What mic are you using?

  • nice cover. will u marry me swty?

  • really really beau!

  • Wow! That was great.

  • Really really great voice.

  • Keep it up Lisa. Some flat notes here and there but you know what? You have a wonderful quality in your voice. The off notes may be due to your not being able to hear yourself well enough in the setting. Anyhow, I'm proud of you and will check out some of your other songs. Keep playing and keep singing in front of people! :-)

  • i love you

  • Amazing!

  • You've been booked marked. What else can I say, except you need to be studio recorded, so we can really enjoy your singing.

  • Sandy was extremely talented. To me, this song is hers. You did very well on it though, so good job. Great taste in music. :)

  • Sorry.... I meant 3rd chord Emaj7

  • Chord 3 is Fmaj7 but played with the same form as the F#m11/E immediately before it. The 1,2 and 6 strings remain open. At the beginning of the chorus watch out for the B and the A that this lovely lady seems to be playing. When Sandy first wrote the song these were written as B add11 and A add9. These 2 chords with the open 1 and 2 strings droning through continue to create the gentle soul.

  • Fantastic version. btw what is the chord 3 chord in the sequence> Many thanks. CR

  • Beautiful!

  • this is really really nice ..

  • Fantastic rendition! You sing like an angel, Lisa. By the way, my wife and I are huuuge fans of yours. Any plans on bringing that wonderful voice to the U.S? Specifically, greater Los Angeles? We'd love to come see you perform.

  • truly lovely rendition

    :-)

  • This is one of the great lost songs of the 60s. Few people know it. What a great rendition, Lisa. Fantastic.

  • bautiful

  • Very nice take on this classic! Sandy's spirit is channelled through you! Well done!

  • lovely. A fitting tribute - you have a wondrous voice.

  • Dam fine cover! Who ever you are you are absolutly fantastic, I am sure Sandy Denny would be proud! Beautiful voice! This song wll be played at my funeral.

  • My oh my.. ur fantastic. i am a huge fairport convention fan.. and sadly never go to see Sandy before she died.

I am teaching myself guitar at the moment... and have had trouble with barre chords... this really helps. thanks so much

    ur amazing x

  • I have a lot of Sandy Denny stuff---you sound (not as fragile on the fragile parts as Sandy) which I actually kind of like--maybe it's it a little more like Judy Collin's? (Don't know hers as well.)

  • No she isn't Sandy Denny, BUT, that was a good cover. Well done! I enjoyed it. It's nice that young people are playing music from the '70s.

  • I think this is a great cover! You have a stunning voice!

  • Very good performance Lisa.

  • Tu guitarra esta desafinada!

La acustica no favorece en la habitacion donde realizas el Performance!

Pero es buena la nota y la interpretacion!

  • Get closer to the mic. Nice voice.

  • Very nice, you have a beautiful voice and it's great to see this song covered so well.

  • you are brilliant, i wish i was that good

  • Beatiful Lisa. So much emotion and heart. I think this is one of your best covers.

  • Beatifully played and sung. I was lucky enough to meet Sandy when I was at university in Norwich (UK). Her death was a huge loss to music. Great to hear people keeping her music alive.

  • nice! do you ever play it with the Fairport Convention chord progression (A-F#m-E under "the line who knows where the time goes and Am instead of F#m under "i will still be dreaming" part of the verse)? I like those chords better... they make the song more interesting because they're sort of unexpected, I think.

    Excellent singing.

  • Never liked the New Jersey shore in summertime. Crowded like a big party you're not invited to. So I'd go down there in the winter, to Sandy Hook, when it was all gray and mist and fog and drizzle, and walk by myself for hours, staring out at the gray waves, squinting at the distance, trying to see Staten Island.

No one else was there; it's like the whole shore was mine. Lonely and a little sad, but I always played Judy Collins's wonderful Colors of the Day comp. This song was on it.

  • You know when you hear a really beautiful song and you don't even know what to say? That's how I am right now

  • Absolutely beautiful, you bought tears to my eyes.

  • Lovely, this sounds a little better than listen listen (not that that sounded bad at all, I just think this song suits your voice better.) I'm hoping to soon be able to play a few of Sandy's songs on the piano I'll post them if I can get a camera.

  • Well done.

  • Beautiful version of Sandy's masterpiece. Very nice.

  • Well I am absolutely gobsmacked. An absolutely fantastic song, and performed beautifully. What a voice. "Well done you", I say.

  • WOW...fantastic, keep it up

  • You really are a very good musician. You have "the connection". You could play anything and it would sound good. I hope you are still making music wherever you are. :)

  • Fantastic!

  • I'm spending my first winter in rural France, incomeless, cold and feeling quite isolated. But wait a minute ...the sun is shining on the stone steps of the cottage, and I am playing this through the big speakers. O my word. What a find. Thankyou.

  • This is beautiful.

  • An excellent cover Lisa; you have a very sweet voice. I like the way you handle that guitar too. I think the more you sing and play the more you'll develop. If you have a local folk club they would love to hear you sing there!

  • Do people know she died tragically?

  • One of the best voices i've ever heard :-)

  • Beautiful job.... look forward to more!

  • lovely version of Sandy Denny at her best. Are you doing any gigs yet?

  • I guess this song will pass the test of time.

  • This is a really great. Very sweet rendition. My first hearing of this song was Judy Collins' version way back in 19xx de dum :).

    -Ron

  • WOW!! You just made me smile. I never heard the original, but that sounded so GOOD. You're really amazing, Lisa. Thank you! :-D

  • ouch. marry me... no seriously... beautiful.

  • Hi - my friend does a beautiful version of this - I must post it. She has an unbeleivable voice. Have you heard of Ellen Mcilwaine? You should check out her first 2 albums - for something a little different than normal folk. If you would like a CD I'll send you one - or email the songs to you. Take care!

  • Wonderful. Any thought of doing a song by Sandy's old bandmate, Richard Thompson ? Dimming of the Day perhaps ?

  • Thanks...I've never heard Dimming of the Day before, I'll have to check it out! :)

  • lovely vocs lisa you v got a nice emotional quality to your pipes keep it up!

  • Really lovely. What a difference a good mic makes.

  • 5 Golden Stars:)

  • Youre channelling Sandy here! I also admire your Joni Mitchell covers , got any more of those coming up?

  • Thank you! Yes, I've been learning a load of Joni's songs recently. I'm without a camera at the moment though...so it may be a while before I upload anything new...but I'm still working on them!:)

  • Great version Lisa! This is my favourite song of all time and the one I wanted played at my funeral. Thanks once again! I always know where to go for a beautiful cover beautifully sung and performed.

  • very nice

  • Wonderful! Will look forward to your next song.

  • Much better audio here and equally as nice as the take 1. Perfect!

  • Very,VERY nice...and I haven't thought of Sandy Denny for a million years!I am more familiar with Judy Collins singing this. *****
