  • Hame Kya Pata Tha...song is remarkable. It starts mellow and turns in to a romantic mood...kya baat hai..whose picture is in the scene here?

  • @dkapasi4 Yesterday beauty... Leela Naidu.

  • It is such a beautiful song, it gave me goosebumps.

  • It is irony that Amirbai Karnataki being such a melodious singer with mature voice had to quit singing and shift to acting in fifties just to make the two ends meet i.e. for the sake of livelihood, due to intense competition in singing, inspite of being endowed with such a beautiful voice and style of her own stamp and her songs in films like Kismat, Ratan having become super-hits in forties.

  • @musiman0124

They were all trying to match Suraiya and Shamshad Begum. The best advice Lata got was to stop doing it and sing in her natural voice. The rest is history.

  • Amirbai Karnataki vocalising P.L.Santoshi's lyrics under C. Ramachandra's baton in Shehnai (1947).
