Ok, Buckethead is an amazing guitaris, there is absolutely no way to deny that fact. If you took the time to listen to/see his other stuff, you'd see all of the knowledge about music that he possesses. He's not just all about shredding and being flashy. But, just because he may be better or worse than Slash or whoever else, does not mean that any of them suck!

Thing is with Buckethead is you can be fooled into thinking he has no style, and his all Hollywood... Listen to his music, watch his live videos, he may act a faceless robot, but he has all the soul that makes a truly great guitarist... Personally I'm not so into widdly instrumentals because it seems to lack feel, but I can listen to Notts Lace over and over, same with most of his stuff... He's a God.

Or is emotion, as what a large majority of what people think is, which is usualy either, "A" or "B". "A" being slow tempo, lots of bends, and vibratos, while making faces.
Or "B" playing the blues(blues scale, etc), or for a better of a lack of words, "emotional music." Please explain to me also, how you know his only intent is too play fast, show off, try as hard as he can to play with out something as theoretical as "emotion", "feeling", any other words that somehow abosuletly make no difference in what is being played. If you took the time to listen to/see his other stuff, you'd see all of the knowledge about music that he possesses. He's not just all about shredding and being flashy. But, just because he may be better or worse than Slash or whoever else, does not mean that any of them suck!

Because he doesn't have memorable riffs means he's not a great guitarist? I actually think Buckethead is underrated, but so are alot of others. Slash does earn his status as a guitarist.
He is good and i rarely hear about him. I played Hendrix songs when i was a beginner at guitar. :P

Thing is with Buckethead is you can be fooled into thinking he has no style, and his all Hollywood... Listen to his music, watch his live videos, he may act a faceless robot, but he has all the soul that makes a truly great guitarist... Personally I'm not so into widdly instrumentals because it seems to lack feel, but I can listen to Notts Lace over and over, same with most of his stuff... He's a God.

But really, listen to ALL his cd's and marvel in his eclecticness and then go to a show before straight up bashing him. I personally think it just isn't the same watching a vid and being there. Ignorant statements like these are why anything that's some what complex, or has a high tempo, gets pushed to the side and labeled, "emotionless," "souless." That's one of the reasons why there is such a small crowd in genres like jazz. Also you're acting as if emotion is a real thing when you play a guitar.

Because apprently if I play with, "emotion" which by the way I have no clue how someone can label someone having, "it" or not, that's only based on opinions, and biases. Anyways going to what I was saying, if I play with, "emotion" it will make my tone better, will make my bends, vibratos, etc better? Or is emotion, as what a large majority of what people think is, which is usualy either, "A" or "B". "A" being slow tempo, lots of bends, and vibratos, while making faces.

I, too, was dissapointed to see Slash replaced, but I have given up some time to check out some Buckethead stuff, and he really is talented as hell...He's more of a player that is better to witness live than on a video take. Doesn't touch Steve Vai but I respect him.
