Hi mate - my car ended up with a few mods but there are good threads on oOple.com already regarding hopping up the car without spending too much money.
Metal outdrives on the back (from the 501X) are really a must at least - along with some decent hex head screws and a slipper. The standard shocks are pretty poor so replacing those with either Associated or better yet the Tamiya TRF ones would be a good move. the DB01 thread is the biggest thread on oOple!
@ TheFarFox: This racing track is in a gymnasium, so it's indoor ---- so this can't be a off-road track! Off-road tracks are always made of dirt, grass or grit. But its a really great track...
it might be hard for a beginner but I found it fairly easy !? you just have to get a hex head screw on the end of a drill and thread every screw hole in the chassis ! then all the screw go in like butter !
I love to see off-road tracks NOT made of dirt. This one is really cool- you have to drift in some corners and not traction roll in others. I would love to drive this.
No basic slipper included with the kit is a deal breaker for me. By the time you add some hop ups you might as well invest $300 in a world champion...The B44. It's too bad the associated keeps using the worthless imperial standard. I agree about the earlier comment, D4 all the way.
Hey Annie it was Jimmy's review that encourged me to get a 501x WCE. Jimmy reviewed the original though. The durga is no different it's just a more plastic version that makes it more affordable, it's still a 501x though.
After that video I can't tell the difference between all plastic vs all exotic carbon/aluminum. Plastic has potential. Nice driving...D4 WC still all the way!!!!
Yo oOple! bought a DB01 because of the review on your site.
Got any recommendations in terms of Upgrades?

The driver makes the car, the car doesn't make the driver.
And if this is Jimmy, he's a good driver, so he makes the Durga looks good.
