I am sorry and i think this is going to be awesome but he just gave the story away. A luxurious desert island with zombies and women going missing. The zombies are from some ancient curse and the women are a sacrifice. Don't get me wrong, that is awesome, i am just sore that i didn't come up with it.

Are you sure this is Dead Island? I mean if this video is from 2007 what the hell is taking so long? And wha'ts this main objective of finding your woman? There are going to be 4 main characters each from different backgrounds that you play as and it definitely said on the website that you were partying and then woke up in a shack with other survivors when the game begins, not a plane crash. So what's going on?

it never had a publisher, why? cause it was just behind L4D and no one saw it as a good investment. Now 4 years later, with some added features, they release there game which has been confirmed of being a mix of L4D with Dead Rising. Not a sandbox world but an Open-World which can be explored ONLY based on if story lets you.

1: no developer picked it up until now(deep silver)

2:because they wanted the game to be the most realistic game ever for a zombie game

3:they didnt have enough time to make a engine for it to run on but now they have one its called chrome engine 5 hope that helps you out:)

@imacds You don't play as any member of the family in the trailer. The character list is on the dead island official website. There are 4 characters to choose from. I assume each with their own stories. But yeah it would be awesome if you could find that girl as an easter egg or something.

They should allow you to choose the frequency/density of weapon spawns i.e. low/medium/high to suit how you want to play the game. it allows people interested in "realism" to play their way and it lets less hardcore players have fun too.
