PERMANENT WAVES (1980) marked the starting point for Rush's full-blown entry into condensed, accessible progressive rock. They abandoned the 20-minute suites and mystical lyrics for catchy progressive song structures, and more human, worldly-related topics. But, Geddy Lee (vocals/bass/synths), Alex Lifeson (guitars) and Neil Peart (drums/lyrics) didn't lose their brilliance in composition, even if most of the track lengths were fit for radio. ENJOY! ;o)
Rush: The Earliest recorded version of what we know today as Power Metal. I saw them live at Cricket Wireless in San Diego a few years back. FUCKING GLORIOUS!!!!!!
Dude I hate to break it to you but Rush is not power metal. Maybe they influenced power metal musicians but I would be more inclined to say that rush had more of an impact on prog metal, given they are an extremely influential progressive rock group.
Like I said, earliest "VERSION", not to say that Rush is directly Power-Metal. Try to pay closer attention to the diction before you make a reply, why don't you?
lol, dude, rush is not even a version of Power Meal. The're progressiv rock, that simple. They are completely unrelated to power metal. I'm sorry I emberassed you or w/e and now you feel the need tojustify your comment, but Rush simply has nothin to do with Power metal except maybe the fact that they are an indirect influence.
Beautiful vid. My fave band, and my fave Rush song in the history of ever. Who can top the instrumental break @ the 3-minute mark? I saw them for the 7th time (Dallas) back in the spring. Un-effin'-believably good.
yeah, I saw them at Soma when they came to San Diego, the look on the drummer's face kina scares me, but it's without a doubt one of the best bands in the past half-century, and an early form of power metal.
all of 2:05 up to 2:17 are from my favorate episode, episode 12 diablo its kind of the point where it goes from joking and fun to becoming more serious

gotta love it.

anime? haha way too pretentious. It's like watching a kid who takes himself too seriously. graphics are tight, but the "coolness" is just laughable
