  • No it is not glass, oxidation does not form on glass and ALR does not work on glass. If it did we would have a wider market for it and would advertise its ability to clean glass.

    There are several automotive forums that have endorsed ALR and have images to back up their indorsement.

  • That was NOT a plastic lens cover! It was glass, which explains how "easily" it was cleaned. How can you tell it's a glass headlight? Look at the three alignment lugs on the front, which no plastic lens cover has.

  • That is not accurate, Plastic headlights are not defined by alignment nodes.

    It cleans so easily because ALR is just that effective on plastic.

    ALR DOES NOT WORK ON GLASS.

    GLASS DOES NOT OXIDIZE.

    Oxidation became a problem with the advent of acrylic / plastic lens. Before plastic there was no market for headlight cleaners,

    Glass will stay clear virtually forever.

  • Both of my cars have the 3 alignment "lugs"....they are plastic. The ones on our old plymouth acclaim look JUST like these, they were also plastic. Next time you see a 94-01 dodge ram, take a gander at its 3 lugged plastic headlight.

  • I found out about Pittman's on line a year ago. I used it and it really works, my lens are still clear. Pittman's ALR is really great stuff.
