  • Fuck anglis!

  • 9gag sent me here !

  • hope i see one before i die

  • It's no mystery. It's just the end of the world. Stop the pollution now.

  • @bedwettingliberal its got nothing to do with pollution.

    It's due to magnetic forces!

  • @mrpumpkinn Actually, it's due to cutting down the brain forest, leftover radiation from Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and radiation emanating from the center of the earth due to all the strip mining. Do some reading. The native Alaskans never wrote about seeing the aurora hundreds of years ago. (of course, they never wrote anything at all and still survive by mating with their siblings, but that's beside the point.)

  • @bedwettingliberal Moron.

Try actually reading a book before you made stupid comments on things you really have no clue about.

The most common auroral colour is Green, which is caused by charged particles from the sun colliding with OXYGEN, which, last I checked, is not a gross byproduct of mining or deforestation (or cutting down the "Brain" forest)

And there are Aurora myths going back at least as far a medieval times.

But you already knew that, having read to extensively on the subject.

  • @mrpumpkinn Next you're going to explain to me how thunder is not the gods farting, but just a result of air being suddenly superheated by lightning. Damn, some people are dumb. If you can't recognize satire, you might be a retard. Satire: look it up, and try getting out more.

  • @mrpumpkinn Really? You're gonna correct me after I talked about the brain forest and radiation from the center of the Earth? Are you even awake?

  • @bedwettingliberal Hey.. there's no accounting for people on here.

It wouldn't be the dumbest thing I had seen on here.

  • the Only Mystery is why you do not awe in Nature's Show...silly scientist$ So here:

what is up with the colours are they edited, EFX, Filters?Special Film? i never saw colours like this when i viewed NL 70'-80's* Just wondering, if you know...*

  • That the hell is mystery? Lets see, charged particles trapped in the magnetic field collide with high atmospheric gas making it glow. We have been able to re-create that in the lab ever since the cathode ray tubes were first made. I think mystery has been solved for decades. Do they really not know how that happens?

  • pause at 0:32

  • @KaileexXxKiba Sir, you have a dirty mind... lol

  • @TheVisionaryGamer I'm not a sir! I'm a shim xD and I'm aware of my mind's condition. I really need to get it cleaned! lol

  • You know, from someone who knows absolutely nothing about Auroras, that looks a hell of a lot like 2 holes in a layer. O3 is Ozone right, so Oxygen and Nitrogen molecules are caused to glow. Or is that hole more due to the shape of the magnetic field around the earth.

  • The reflections of the great crystal building from inner earth. That's my description :)

  • hen man turns on their destruction weather machines HARRP (one of the largest is in Alaska) to cause earthquakes including the ones in Japan and tornados and huge hurricanes to cause people to fear and submit to government, these aurora lights you see go crazy every time. God does not like it when man tries to destroy His planet or people. Research this.

  • @RadicalNewBreeds

This is one of the stupidest things I have ever read, on so many levels. You need to take a basic entry-level earth sciences course. Please.

  • i have seen them in the borth of scotland and it was amazing they blew me away with their beauty like natures fireworks love them

  • not once did they mention these are birkeland currents (i.e., electric current flowing within interplanetary plasma). NASA is still in denial about this electric sun issue.

  • they are lights from Heaven. Heaven is a real place up above toward north. There are second Heaven and third Heaven. Third Heaven is where God is and it is where all of us who believe in Jesus will be. Human can't even calculate how far second Heaven is just yet. they can even use real numbers of light-year to estimated it.

  • @thelittlefrog88 Isn't north the Sata home? Or are they the same imaginary bearded man?

  • It’s nice how scientists explain the mystery of the world.

But sometimes there just some mystery has to be mystery itself.

  • Solar electrons hitting the earths atmosphere, that would be electricity creating a plasma.

  • xD The Aurora wont be so mysterious?!?! Its not fun to look at when its not as mysterious

  • Anyway, the Aurora Borealis is nature's own spectacular color show from which to enjoy all the scientists as well as the most ardent believers.

  • To the genius whose screen name is too offensive to reprint, NO, these are just people who are infinitely smarter than you, and thank god there are enough of them responsible enough to learn and disseminate information about our world - while people like you spend time knocking them for being "scientificy", and probably playing with your own feces.

  • @goodbyebluesky1000 don't exaggerate. it's impossible to be infinitely smarter than someone else. and yeah, I know, he was discrediting them. but he probably hasn't played with his poop for a good 8 years.

  • All these people do is create an opinion and fill it up with nice sounding words, say it in a nice smooth scientificy tone and it becomes "fact"

  • this reminds me of the pokemon deoxys lol

  • the aurora lights are just beautiful. I don't know what is is, but everytime i see them i have an emotional response. that sounded gay, but still those lights are amazing.

  • May not be mysterious but will always be awesome to watch

  • have you seen red blue purple and green and pink all at once? i have

  • I once could observe the Polar lights it Fantastic show! :0)

  • GORGEOUS

  • this is so amazing!

  • so beautiful...

  • SUBHANALLAH,,,,

  • could u imagine to watch this on shrooms! ..i wish i would have a chance to do this...it would be spectacular to watch it.

  • that was awesome, this beautiful phenomenom is my topic on my thesis,, it was so interesting,,

  • truly amazing.. if ever someone would bring me on a date to alaska or any place where there would be these northern lights.. i would say yes immediately.. hahhaaha

  • These lights are of the wonders of God!!!

  • i dont think this is real

  • 666 at 1:11 lol

  • I just wondered.. how do they build those machines and how to know what where when they can get that and work so perfectly fine. god humans are so so genius!

  • inner earth, auroras show up on all the planets regardless of their position to the sun in terms of photon blasts. all the energy comes from inner earth which exists at the fifth dimensional frequency. ask an ET, thats how our governments made LED lights for all our emergency exit signs incase there is a disaster.

  • wow it is unexplainable literly ...it is a true wonder and mystery of how auroras happen it must be one of the most intresting things that problebly still does not have the answer to ...it will take a great force for the scientists to figure this one out ...and it will be great if people knew the cause to it. it will leave scientists without doubt but it will not be as fun as it is to wonder about it ......ONE MORE THING ! WHO BELIVES IN ALIENS ..

  • @crizbebe01 Wow!!!!!!!! You are a true dumb person, did you watch this video or not cause they just explained how they happen and from what , so watch it again , i am sorry aint trying to be mean but wow how could you watch this and then say that , im trying to help you to learn so watch again,

  • I would give a gps to see the auroras!!

  • the earth is hollow, incase you guys dont already know, thats where this energy is coming from.

  • lolarcbound

  • Please notice the HOLE at the North hole...study Adrimal byrd that flew into it in the 30's or 40's and had contact with beings...ahem...the Earth is hollow...800 miles thick...Huge magnet= gravity

  • H.A.A.R.P at its best !!!

  • A scientist is a man who understands nothing , until there is nothing left to understand.

  • That's the wisest statement I've ever seen on YOUTUBE, I give you a pat on the back because that is extremely true.

  • But can you explain that more ? It's like philosophy. . .

  • @draeday22 There's no esplain, all your base are belong to us.

  • well said

  • @RobinDropping That is grossly oversimplifed tripe.

  • "Pretty soon, Auroras may not seem as mysterious after all"

I am having trouble seeing what is good about that. There we go, one by one, eliminating all of the wonders in the universe. Our damned curiosity.

  • @KingArcbound describing something with science does not kill its wonder. Science only describes one dimension of a phenomena, it lends nothing to the mystery that anything exists at all.

  • @KingArcbound Explaining how things happen should not take away from the majesty of it.

Indeed, as our our understanding of the cosmos increases, the more we realise how spectacularly grand it is in scale, and how much there is still for us to learn.

There have been those throughout history who have sought to suppress knowledge and keep people in ignorance...ALWAYS at the detriment to the many, and the benefit of the few.

I, for one, am happy that scientists are revealing such mysteries!

  • @KingArcbound There are plenty of mysteries left, and every answer leaves new unanswered questions...

  • so beautiful!

  • Thanks for posting this video on youtube, making it available to all.

It's linked now in the "Sun Earth Connections" thread at Sapo's Joint.(net)

  • Be realist, we do not know if god exist or not, but if he exist, it would be irrelevant to human life... so enjoy the nature and the stuff with it and keep your religion to you and your believer partners...the rest of us just want to enjoy science

  • Although I am religious and I DO BELIEVE IN GOD AND I'M A SAVED CHIRSTIAN, I agree with you 1000 percent, certain people don't want to hear about certain things, you are entitles to your own opinion and I definately respect it, of course if I were you, I would feel the same way.

  • Thank you for your support =) and thanks for respecting my opinion! have a good day!

  • absolutely beautiful. i never seen an aurora and i really hope to witness one

  • LOL...riste: "first word GOD nothing else maters". You religious fuckheads crack me up. Do you realize that your God and your beloved Jesus are nothing more than characters in the best selling fiction novel of all time?

  • patrickwhatever...

"you need to open a book, not just a bible"

    woooa..you're unbelievably pathetic..

  • of course they can know things haha

  • NASA said nothing will happen in 2012 people just started rumors that went wild. And bees know a lot about the world outside the bee hive considering they go out and get nectar and come back and have been flourishing for many, many years. Their are nine planets, i know the order of their size, i know how far apart they are, we landed on the moon, we know how large the moon is, we mapped out mars, NASA knows a lot about space. You need to open a book, not just the bible.

  • Fantasies? Just because I know why the northern lights can't be seen in Europe that well its a fantasy? Wow, says the guy with a cross as his thumbnail and videos of religion. Stop trying to preach you are doing a horrible job of it. Oh and NASA can't just predict, they have proved more things then what goes on in your mind. Now you can sit here and argue all you want about god, but science has PROVED many things. NASA is science on the astrology branch, so much has been proven about space.

  • Fantastically beautiful

  • maybe because there is supermans home.. wkkwkwkwkwwkkw

  • i live in england and the northern lights are so magical i only saw them on the internet but would absolutely love to see them, arent they hypnotic and so mystical.

  • do the auroras move as fast as the first 27 sec of footage?

and i hope they dont find out what causes it

  • my personal opinion

yes it would be good to solve the origin and the mystery of the auroras yeah that would clear a lot of doubts that scientist have about them

but it would also destroy the great mystery that they are if everyone learns how they appear and why during suntimes etc. ppl wont give interest on them so i would like in my opinion that they leave the mystery for themselves.

besides its just like magnetic camps of electricity thats why gps dnt work the electric field interfer

  • @OrquestaSonDelPuerto There's no destruction of wonder, if you consider science to be wonderful in and of itself. I mean, doesn't it make it MORE fantastic and amazing to know that they are caused by HUGE bursts of energy coming from our sun and impacting the ionisphere?

  • @IrukaKan the burst from the sun are only a small part of the story, the energy that those particles have when they arrive at earth are not sufficient to produce any visual responce. Some thing is accelerating the particles 10 to 20 times their speed of arrival to the earth. What is capable of accelerating particles after they arrive at the earth? that is the big juicy juicy delicious question!!!! :D

  • @OrquestaSonDelPuerto wrong, we must know EVERYTHING there is to know so we one day can take control of the universe! :D as somebody important said "knowlege is power"

  • ah ok thank you very much for the answear ;)

  • i think the aurora leads to other worlds....

  • you know that isnt unlikely, someone could call you stupid for saying that but it can be true, u never know and science cant prove or disprove you. it may be a wormhole to another place or another time instantaneously.

  • but why are auroras in middle and south europe only very weak and red while they are very strong in northern parts of the earth like norway, finland, sweden, canada, alaska etc ??

  • Long story short it's due to our magnetic field. The particles from solar wind etc. become trapped in the magnetic field and spiral back and forth along the field lines at the poles, where the field lines merge into the Earth. Thus why they are brighter and more visible in Alaska rather than Europe is because Alaska is closer to the North Pole.

  • South Europe is a bit lower and because of all the city life the lights make the sky harder to see also the climate as well

  • its interesting to note that the Imprent that the sun is leaving on the earth in the form of auroras are the exact same rotation that was pressed out from the Sun. sort of like a thumb print left on a glass our atmosphere is sort of like a mold that reforms itself after the impact

  • woow , Thanxxxxxx 4 the clarification and explanation. Now we understand the reason for that natural magic

  • wow awsome

  • Go NASA !

  • Before i die i wish to see them!

  • Subscriber here awaiting!! although I guess.. The theory of aurora formation is based on Alfven wave electronic interaction; The molecules are electrically excited and the ionic electrons take quantum leaps; a mechanism in which electron's kinetic energy is converted to visible light and the different atoms collision produce different colors which we see them as AURORAS!!

  • If you're primarily talking about when electrons collide with our atmosphere gases..you're correct but just to clarify slightly. The electrons with high amounts of energy interact/collide with gas molecules. This kinetic energy is transfered to electrons within the energy levels of the gas atoms (oxygen, nitrogen, argon etc).

  • well, i forgot to say that collision with different atoms would create different colors, thanks for reminding!

  • These eletrons "jump up" an energy level (creating what you COULD call slight instablilities" This electron is more stable within a lower level. It "jumps down" and the kinetic energy it had recieved releases light of specific set and discreate wavelenghts and frequencies.

  • Are you saying that, the kinetic energy differs the color, or wave length and frequencies, not the collision with different energy levels?

  • Ah no no. Sorry, I was incorrect in my explanation previously (it was getting late:P). What affects the different set values of frequency and wavelengths of light emitted is actually the excited electrons jumping down the fixed energy levels of the gas atoms then emitting light. I was unclear in stating that incident electrons are absorbed by the gas molecules/atoms. What occurs is basically a form of "The Photoelectric Effect". Electrons jumping down levels transform energy into emitted light.

  • Thanks, your points are true too! though i don't understand it directly, i'll try to get it..

    :D

  • Magnetospere, Solar flare radiation. Is there more solar flares in the spring? Or does it have to do with the rotation of the earth, reative to the sun to the sun?

  • study solar cycle!!

  • I remember some guy that told me taht auroras make sounds. like a buzz, is this true?

  • nahh!! aurora do not make sounds!! but if we see them ... we think that they make sounds but actually they do not!!!

  • Ok, thanks for the explanation! : )

  • no their silent but very beautiful to watch and cau8se ppl to gasp in amazement round the world

  • don't be silly, this has nothing to do with science! they're dancing fairies! :'D

  • yeah right!! :P

  • How about spending those millions on something we can do something about....like the economy. What a waste these NASA projects are.

  • i luv auroras they are just so pretty and wonderful

  • thx for the explaining

  • Auroras come from inner earth, the opening of the south and north poles,

it is the reflection cause by the enormous steel sun in the middle of our planet.

If you don't believe what i say, try to get a satelite picture of south or north pole whetever you want, i tried to get some pictures of the north or the south poles it's impossible. NASA , ESA or Japon refuse to let us see pictures of poles.

  • why wouldnt they let us see them

  • ...

    HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

  • .... LOL

  • woooow nice

  • It really is the aliens entering the amptosphrer, just kidding

  • i know scientist have their explanations...But you see it is God that is displaying his Beauty....

  • Note: this footage is extremely sped up. The Aurora moves much slower, like slowly waving curtains.

  • i have seen the northern lights... a sight which i cannot forget...in kiruna, northern sweden

  • i see them lots in canada :)

  • lsd trip, don't you think???

  • You should go to Tromso(ø) Norway for auroras. Alot of people around the world come here for that.

  • arround what time in the year?

  • Not in summer time, when it is dark here. Around winter time or right before.

  • You can also see auroras in the northern part of Finland in winter Every year.

  • seriously ?!

  • yep. But you can see them really much on this night it's like the longest night in the year. So loads of people in Finland or some other European country just go to Lapland on that day to watch.see Auroras. They are very beautiful!

  • un regalo inolvidable de la naturaleza

  • Very good!

  • So unique that heavenly!!! thanks, ********

  • I love the Lights !

  • so unique so heavenly. thanx 4 uploading

  • wow! its great. you've rocked man.

  • que maravilla!!!!!!

  • This is a one from few video with aurora. It's beautiful. Success with TEMIS! I'm wondering if you have a device for measure the magnetic field into your pocket, will record any different activity than normal during the aurora? (I suppose yes) -good music-

  • How awesome. I'd love to see it in person though. Someday. :)

  • very intresting,Thankyou
