Hmmm, I would blame that one on the bad audio quality. I know we worked that aspect of it really hard and really had it down. Anyway, thanks for your input.
I love this piece, but if I might throw in my own two cents. I sang this a few years back in the NJ Region 1 choir so I know this piece very well as a soprano. There was one sop. that was just sticking out and not blending with the choir. Also personally, I don't like the accents on the third las for the sops. The tempo was great.
Haha, yeah, we have some divas in our group that tend to like to take over :). Also, I'm not quite sure what you mean about the accents on the third las for the sopranos. The audio is crappy on this, so that may well be the problem.
Oh, I see. It's not the third las that have the accents, it's the first. They're on the beat. However, I personally would think it was boring if it didn't have accents. They help bring out the joy in the piece and as you can see from the translated lyrics this piece is all about joy and praise. But this is just one man's opinion... :).
Thank you! It was composed by a Brazilian by the name of Ernani Aguiar, yet the lyrics are in Latin (don't ask me why). I'll put the translated lyrics in the video description.
The lyrics are in Latin because of the oldest and more traditional version of the Bible, the "Vulgata", which is in Latin. I thought everybody knew that...
We sang this in high school

The instrumental parts are too strong and it sounds choppy, it sounds choppy.
