You have to be very specific here. The Ottoman military did not orchestrate nor implement the genocide. It was the Special Organization under the Interior Ministry.
I must agree that it was insane to commit genocide on a whole people, but they didn't waste manpower on it. In fact, they were very efficient, sometimes having only 10 gendarmes guarding a convoy of at least a thousand.

It's not impossible when you consider who the Armenians were, and how they thought. Most of them didn't even realize that they were all going to die until the deportations started. Before that, they considered themselves loyal citizens of the Ottoman Empire. Most of them were not rebellious at all, but were used to being second-class citizens. Not only that, but the Armenians lacked the organization that the Empire had.

I suggest you look up dashnaks and hynchaks.There was no organisation in the ottoman empire.let me tell you something there is a village 100 miles away from the city I live and they did not even know the ottoman empire collapsed until 1933,which makes ten years.Ottoman people did not have ID's or passports/travel cards. Ottomans could not even get their soldiers dressed properly,they used to make uniforms out of sandbags. And even 100,000 of their soldiers were killed just because of winter.

The special organization was directly under Talat Pasha, and by his efforts made exclusive from the military. Talat hated Enver and wanted to have some power of his own, so he told him not to meddle in the Interior's affairs.
