I guess I just focused on the sound rather than the lyrics. It's right after Mother, which strikes me as kind of haunting song, and right before Me And A Gun, which is incredibly sad song. I believe I subconsciously took Tear In Your Hand for something happier. Hearing Mr. Sandoval's version for the first time, made me see the song as something sadder, I guess.

That's an excellent point you bring up - the order of songs on this CD would make it seem as if "Tear in Your Hand" was finally something more up-beat, especially with the music that is played to Tori's singing. you know, i totally agree with you. it's hard though because these performances are all live and i only have one camera. i tried doing a multi-cam setup at one point but it adds hours of work to these videos and just didn't seem worth it in the end. i'm recording from a new space (i moved over the summer) so i am still learning how to best work in the dimensions of the room. i'll try to capture both perspectives in the next video.

I guess I have to admit I liked "Northern Lad" rather better. You've done this same song a half-dozen times over now anyway. The lyrics are so soft & emotional they feel almost mushy.
