@Sephiroth09 That really is not true, Shinji and Asuka have had terrible lives. Put in there positions I doubt you would have come out much differently from one of them. Not to mention it adds depth to the characters. If they Shinji wasn't afraid of piloting the EVA then the story line would be much worse.
