  • Three thugs to be learned from this. Record keeping, ventilation and cleanliness. The floor and even the boxes were spotless! Fantastic facility and impressive stock.

  • @Daddycausingchaos Thanks!

  • Wow! Great Loft and birds..where you get the fan and ventilation system from? From MN. Thanks.

  • @blackwingking1000 Try these guys qcsupply dot com or just Google "shutter fans" and find the best price. The roof ventilators I bought from Home Depot or Lowes. Good Luck!

  • i like your pigeon men :D

  • Thanks for the quick reply...i like how you seperate your proven birds by having only four..i like the concept...great help..cause i only have a small space ...thanks again!

  • what's the size of the breeding loft(proven and test pairs) and the size of your box.

  • @zirbaldo

10x14 is the entire breeding loft. The test section is 6x14 and the proven section 4x8 or so, that's about close. The boxes are your standard larger sized nest, you can find the ones in the test section at jedds and the ones in the proven at foyspigeonsupplies.

  • Interesting video. I've often wondered, what do you do with the pidgeons once they're too old for racing?

  • @LightmanTruth

Once they are too old for racing, they are moved over into the breeding lofts to produce younger babies to race. Our oldest breeder currently is 12 years old! Thanks for checking our channel :)

  • @propigeonracingloft

Thanks. But how do you stop them breeding before they retire?

  • @LightmanTruth

How do we stop them breeding before they retire? Well, at some point, just like humans, dogs, cats, and other animals alike, they stop breeding because they become older. It's natural to grow old and not be able to reproduce any longer. At that point, they are used as foster parents (birds that sit eggs or feed other pairs babies) and/or they are left to live out their lives in our aviaries just like any other pet bird.

  • @propigeonracingloft

Thanks for that, but I think you misunderstood my question. My first question was what happened to the birds once they retire, and you said they are then used for breeding. So I asked how do you stop them breeding before they retire ie. before they finish racing. Or do they breed while they are still young enough to race?

  • @LightmanTruth

Yes they breed while young enough to race. There is no stopping them from breeding unless you separate the sexes or put dummy (wood) eggs in the nest for the pair to sit.
